Who We Are

Essential Functions of an IPS Lead Teacher

Guide outstanding daily instruction

IPS lead teachers are highly skilled educators who execute Impact's instructional model. Lead Teachers build an empowering learning environment that excites and motivates scholars to achieve. Lead Teachers love to use data to inform instructional decisions like student groupings and intervention needs and model IPS core values in all interactions with scholars.

Serve as a mentor to scholars

Lead Teachers run Impact's social emotional learning curriculum and work hand in hand with scholars during mentor time. Lead Teachers support their mentees in goal setting and serve as the primary point of contact with their mentees' families. Lead Teachers support with occasional evening events like "Mentor Family Dinners" where mentor groups come in for potluck meals.

Commit to Professional Learning and Growth

Lead Teachers attend summer PD, weekly PD, and weekly grade level team meetings. Lead Teachers are coached by an Impact administrator and apply learnings from coaching and PD to their practice. Lead Teachers in TK-2nd grade are paired with a Teaching Fellow, and support this early career stage teacher in their own growth and development.

Additional Duties

Lead Teachers supervise one meal (either lunch or snack) and one recess each day.

Additional Requirements

  • Prior to the start date of employment all employees need to obtain clearance on a criminal justice fingerprint and background check.

  • Prior to being made an offer, the hiring manager will ask candidates to complete a character and fitness form from the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction."

  • Lead Teachers possess a valid teaching certification (this could include an out of state certification, so long as the applicant is willing to transfer this to Washington).

  • An offer is contingent upon verification that the person is authorized to work in the United States for any employer
