The Digital Orthopedic Surgery team is bringing innovation to patient care. We are using robotics and digital tools for surgical teams to increase the performance, accuracy, and safety of surgical procedures. We are creating an extensible operating room ecosystem to support our surgical products. Our vision is to create a process of continuous improvement through analysis of intra-operative and post-operative surgical data. The Lead Systems Test Engineer will work alongside systems, software, and product development professionals to align on a rigorous development and testing approach to bring to market products of the highest quality and commercial potential. You will innovate testing solutions from and end-to-end systems-based approach. You will create test cases and work with systems engineers and quality professionals to ensure that the testing approach is well-structured and exhaustive. You will help develop the talents of others on the team in designing and executing tests for robotic systems. You must become versed in our regulation-based documentation protocols and quality management system.
Developing a systems-based testing strategy alongside software engineers, and mechanical and electrical engineers.
Execute test cases ensuring that they meet system design requirements and acceptance criteria.
Build out our test beds including configuration of the surgical robot and setting up tools for testing its software, firmware, and electromechanical components.
Effective automated testing of applications during the Software Development Lifecycle including design, implementation, and execution.
Detailed understanding and consistent use of our Quality Management System tools and procedures including documentation of Verification Protocols and test results.
Experience and Skills
A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development which includes testing responsibilities required.
Experience working with advanced technology that uses a combination of software, mechanical and electrical engineering is required.
Experience creating and executing test plans for verification of input requirements is required.
Experience developing methods for testing of mechanical, electrical and software interfaces required.
Experience developing and executing system integration tests is required.
This position will be based in Boston, MA and may require up to 25% domestic and international travel.
Experience using a repository for managing test cases is desired.
Familiarity with modern test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, data acquisition, protocol analyzers.) preferred.
Interacting with real-time systems that include motion control and embedded firmware components with robotics is preferred.
Experience developing custom system tests for verification and validation preferred.
Experience with medical device software is strongly preferred.
