Lead Systems Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join exciting efforts in Flight Simulation software. Our team is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to produce execution plans and manage junior engineers through their day to day tasks for a dynamic team out of Binghamton, NY. This is an on-site position and is open to relocation candidates, the Lead Systems Engineer is required to have an active SECRET Clearance.

Responsibilities of the Lead Systems Engineer

• Create plans for execution of software tasks in support of program requirements while staying within budget and schedule constraints

• Clearly communicate accurate and timely status of budget, schedule, and technical issues

• Support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modifications, security, and upgrading of development support systems and simulation components to provide services that enable programs to effectively develop simulation software solutions.

• Working with complex configuration environments; build servers, virtual labs, generalizing tools to accommodate multiple languages and architectures, and assuring tools and processes scale to accommodate the evolving needs of our diverse teams.

• Work closely with the production release and operations teams to establish and deploy consistent, high quality, and packaged builds for our internal and external customers.

• Create media and procedures for coldstart execution of training device, both in-plant and at customer facilities.

• Work with other team members to design and document development system architectures and topologies for both general and simulation specific purposes.

Requirements of the Lead Systems Engineer

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required

• A minimum of 13 years Software engineering experience

• Experience supporting military or defense programs

• Ability to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutions

• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, document, test and debug simulation software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions

• Linux and Windows System Administration, knowledge of hardware, as well as expertise in command line tools.

• Active DoD Secret Clearance within a five-year investigation period

• Security+ , CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), or CSSLP certification

Compensation of the Lead Systems Engineer

• Salary: $118,000 - $145,000
