Lead Systems Engineer - Ts/Sci Clearance

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a mission-driven IT engineer with exceptional communication skills and strategic vision to become our next Lead Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA.

As a Lead Systems Engineer you will:

A week in the life of a Lead Systems Engineer:

• Lead a team of talented, and experienced IT Engineers on new and ongoing IT projects

• Engage in hands-on technical work alongside the engineering team

• Perform direct technical troubleshooting and problem resolution in IT systems and infrastructure

• Coordinate with Information Assurance, Service Desk, and Software Development teams to ensure continuous operations

• Ensure continuous integration and deployment of software updates

• Oversee day-to-day operations supporting the customer's acquisition support mission

• Manage personnel development and complete performance appraisals of AMERICAN SYSTEMS employees

Job Requirements

• Active TS/SCI Clearance

• Bachelor's Degree

• DoD 8570/8140 IAT II level certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP)

• More than 10 years of technical experience supporting IT operations (IT systems, IT networks, and software development)

• More than 5 years of technical experience supporting Information Assurance/Cybersecurity

• Technical understanding of the following:

• VWware infrastructure

• Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix

• Networking

• Storage systems

• Cloud technologies

• Management/Leadership experience

• Demonstrated experience communicating with senior level customers

• Strong working knowledge of virtual computing including VMware and Cloud computing

• Strong understanding of computer networking, perimeter protection, and information security

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $145,000-$160,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
