Job Highlights MITRE is looking for strategic and technical leadership with proven success in applying System Engineering to include digital engineering, architecture development, requirements trade analysis, and acquisition to support the high priority critical Air Force cruise missile weapons systems program. This role includes contributing and/or leading a dynamic multi-disciplined technical team solving critical problems and developing improvements through innovation.
Provide technical leadership as a trusted advisor to the sponsors' cruise missile weapons system development and acquisition
Apply deep understanding of model-based systems engineering best practices to assess designs, identify and mitigate performance constraints and gaps, evaluate proposed changes, and support verification and test to enable data driven acquisition and investment decisions.
Become the focal point for the government for technical issues and leverage MITRE's resources to their fullest advantage
Dynamically manage change as requirements and capability goals evolve and mature
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering or similar field and 8 years related experience. The candidate should possess the ability to define projects or programs greater than themselves. Candidate understands that he/she will be responsible for work and/or customer relationship development and will acts according toand guides others towardthe proper balance of a) product depth with timeliness and b) technical improvements with programmatic constraints, even when hard compromises are required. Preferred candidates will be recognized by senior management as a thought leader.
Experience with systems engineering on DoD or government related acquisition programs
Experience building systems models, model-based architecture engineering methods and standards, conducting analysis, and providing recommendations within a team environment to support planning and decision-making
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with senior leaders, multiple engineering and program disciplines, as well an ability to frame and articulate technical problems in a systems engineering context.
Experience with DoD or UAF
Experience with M&S applications and integration of models and applications to perform more comprehensive simulations
