Systems Engineer/Analyst to support Missile Defense Agency Advanced Technology Program efforts providing engineering support to the Multi-Object Kill Vehicle and the Hypersonic Defense Weapon Systems related to interface design and documentation. This position requires outstanding written and verbal skills as well as MS office skills.


The Systems Engineer in this role will provide support to the Missile Defense Agency Multi-Object Kill Vehicle and the Hypersonic Defense Weapon Systems programs related to interface design and documentation.

Duties will include support of Government Lead Systems Engineer during comprehensive requirements analysis; requirements identification and execution assessments; assembly and system testing; and integration plans and schedules.

Develop and present program briefings to senior management-level personnel.

Resolve complex hardware, software and/or integration problems and devise unique solutions that meet or exceed client requirements.


  • 7+ years of experience with MDA engineering programs or related Space and Missile programs from a Prime

development level or service support level effort

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver products on schedule

  • Capability to develop and present program briefings to senior management-level personnel

  • Candidate must have a Top Secret Clearance


BS/MS degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent training, and 5+ years of related work

experience with at least 7 years' experience as a system engineer.


Requires knowledge and ability to resolve complex hardware, software, and/or integration problems and devise unique

solutions that meet/exceed client requirements.

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership role.

Demonstrated ability to communicate (both verbally and in writing) clearly with team members, managers, and clients

working on complex engineering/software issues pertaining to assigned tasks.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Overview: * This position will support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. * The GMD System is the first and only operationally deployed missile defense program to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. The system provides early detection and tracking during the boost phase, midcourse target discrimination, precision intercept and destruction of inbound ICBMs through force of hit-to-kill technology. As prime contractor, Boeing is designing, producing, integrating, testing and sustaining all GMD components. * Base work location is Huntsville, AL, although some travel may be required. Responsibilities: * Serve as technical lead for GMD Systems Integration Team responsible to integrate GMD Components and Subsystems into the GMD Weapon System and the GMD Element into the Ballistic Missile Defense System: * Lead the analysis, identification, and resolution of integration issues that affect multiple teams across all levels of the GMD Element and Components with emphasis on interfaces and interdependencies. * Lead the development of cross-cutting solutions to GMD integration issues during planning, definition and design phases, Element and Component engineering, testing, assessment and fielding of the GMD Weapon System. * Lead GMD horizontal and vertical integration including all design, development, and test processes that ensure an integrated GMD Weapon System. * Support and coordinate GMD Weapon System sell-off to include proof of integration. * Coordinate and execute GMD systems integration throughout the program lifecycle including planning, development, test, operations and sustainment activities: * Ensure lessons-learned and best practices are considered for implementation. * Ensure consistent application of engineering policies and processes. * Conduct system level utility trades to identify best value system solutions. * Assure successful GMD Weapon System end-to-end operational performance. * Assure successful GMD Weapon System integration, verification, and validation. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) * Minimum of 5 years experience working on a military / defense program / contract. * Minimum of 3 years experience in a systems integration role, working across multiple teams, with horizontal & vertical integration. * Minimum 1 year of experience in a technical team leadership position with a customer-facing role. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working on a missile defense program; direct GMD work experience is a plus. * Demonstrated proficiency at developing solutions to complex technical problems (lead projects, develop innovative designs, lead trade studies, and drive issues to closure) * Strong collaborations skills working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and customers. * Integration and test experience.
