Job Title: Lead Systems Engineer

Job Purpose, Duties and Responsibilities:

MACOM is hiring a senior lead system engineer to help shape, develop and evolve our family of RF products in the growing RF Module business. MACOM is developing RF modules for commercial, aerospace, and defense markets, from Watts to kWatts, VHF to mm-Wave systems. The candidate will work closely with RF groups in NJ, NC, MA, CA.

Responsibilities include the following:

Develop system engineering requirements documentation based on customer requirements, including individual requirements, compliance matrices.

  • Develop system level architectures for MACOM's RF Pallets and Modules.

  • Designing end to end systems using multiple MACOM components and subsystems.

  • Perform cascade analysis of TX and RX subsystems.

  • Drive the execution of various blocks and subsystems to effectively achieve high level design goals.

  • Perform system level analysis, evaluate key trade-offs, develop models & simulations to validate the architecture, and develop formal architecture specifications for the next generation products.

  • Coordinate between system, design and test engineering during lab validation and production test development.

  • Debug issues and identify performance bottlenecks in systems internally and with customer's engineering teams.

Previous Relevant Work Experience/Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering with specialty in RF with 20+ years of experience.

  • Over 10 years of experience with RF systems engineering, telecommunication, RADAR, EW, FDD and TDD systems.

  • Experience with requirements documentation/control system (DOORS, MBSE, SRD/ARD).

  • Experience architecting systems to meet stringent power, cost, and performance targets.

  • Experience analyzing and defining architectures and deriving system and block level specifications.

  • Experience with system modelling using SystemVue, Matlab, ADS, AWR.

  • Experience debugging system issues in both internal lab and customer lab environments.

  • Experience with design modelling techniques and procedures.

  • Strong analytical skills and a working knowledge of modern system design and testing methods.

  • Detail oriented with strong fundamentals in core engineering principles, including RF systems, baseband signal processing, waveform analysis, communication system air interface designs, logic, power supplies, mechanical, thermal disciplines.
