Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Lead Supplier Quality Engineer position. As a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

• Lead supplier partner development and qualification.

• Identify and measure component failure trends and collaborate with our supplier partners to improve quality.

• Partner with suppliers to understand problems and investigate root cause.

• Evaluate supplier-provided failure analysis and initiate, monitor, and approve supplier corrective actions.

• Provide technical leadership for supplier process improvement.

• Facilitate process improvements by teaching Root Cause Analysis and World Class Manufacturing concepts.

• Perform supplier audits to determine process capability, compliance to SEL requirements, regulatory, ISO 9001, or other ISO standards.

• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

• Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if you have:

• B.S. in Engineering or related technical field

• 6+ years of experience in quality engineering or related field

• Demonstrated success in resolution of quality issues in electronic design and manufacturing organizations.

• Strong facilitation, organization, and communication skills.

• Experience with quality assurance methods, including RCA, process capability, FMEA, SPC, etc.

• Knowledge of applicable industry standards with understanding of probability/reliability concepts.

• Willing to travel up to 25%.

• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

• Experience using metrology and statistical methods.

• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

• Background check results satisfactory to SEL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using metrology and statistical methods

• Knowledge of probability/reliability concepts

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer

• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

• Knowledge of design, manufacturing, and service processes

Pay Range Data:

Supplier Quality Engineer: $69,100 - $108,100 annually. Lead Supplier Quality Engineer: $79,400 - $124,000 annually. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
