Position Overview The Lead Supervisor has overall responsibility for the execution of schedules and process, which provides an on-time and quality product in a safe manner through the coordination of shop floor employees.

In addition, the Lead Supervisor is responsible for executing the improvement agenda that provides development of supervisors and shop floor employees resulting in quantifiable improvement in our order execution and internal relationships. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate supervision, shop floor employees, and manufacturing production. Drive safety improvements, maintain product quality, economical manufacturing costs and production schedules consistent with company manufacturing objectives and goals.

Organize and assign work, instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production, quality, and safety standards. Set shop floor expectations in the areas of safety/hygiene, on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and information accuracy and flow. Serve as an advocate for shop floor employees and ensure effective shop floor communication.

Diagnose production equipment malfunctions, expediting and coordinating repairs to reduce production downtime, soliciting assistance when required. Assist operators in troubleshooting production equipment problems and solving production difficulties. Maintain an adequate and efficient workforce in accordance with skill requirements and work levels and production schedules.

Maintain compliance with work rules, offering encouragement and issuing violation warnings and disciplinary actions, as required. Administer the labor agreement in a fair and consistent manner. Ensure the use of safety devices and equipment, supervising plant housekeeping and continually being alert for hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.

Complete accident reports and follow-up on accident log entries. Identify and resolve issues confronting the manufacturing facility Develop training plans for supervisors and review supervisors' performance Seek opportunities for improvement and drive them to resolution Focus on improving the development of employees through cross training and the VQR system, enhancing system improvement in the areas of safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost. Attend training classes and/or seminars to improve production and management related skills.

Provide support for Luvata Appleton initiatives. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.

It is desirable for the employee to obtain additional training related to supervisory duties. Requires 5 years of supervisory experience in production operations. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including Microsoft Suite.

Requires good communication skills to coordinate production operations and communicate company objectives and operation procedures to employees. The employee is required to wear safety glasses and metatarsally guarded steel-toed shoes while working in production areas. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
