Selectek is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer. This Structural Engineer should possess their P.E.

The Structural Engineer is wanted for a lead structural analyst position that will focus on projects in the telecommunications industry. Preferred candidate would have 10 years experience and a Professional Engineering license, have a strong background in RISA 3-D, steel design/analysis, and have the ability to manage a team and competing customer needs. The Structural Engineer will review the work of junior engineers, managing production, analysis and modification of steel non-building structures and concrete foundations in an industry that emphasizes quality and speed. Some drafting may be required.

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineer, specializing in structures
Professional Engineering license required
10 Years of Structural Engineering Experience w/ structural steel design
Risa 3D or similar FEA software
Knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI 318, other standards

2 plus years of Telecommunications experience highly preferred.
Knowledge of TIA-222 codes
Autocad proficiency

VIEW JOBS 1/4/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-04T00:00 What you will do Under general direction, responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete security and other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e. lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc) to meet the intent of the project requirements. Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs. Develops complex software programs, commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations of security system. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors. How you will do it * Designs and configures technically complex security systems as defined by the contract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required. * Provides solutions to systems problems by troubleshooting the system or advising others on how to resolve problems. Requires thorough understanding of core and third party security products, software and systems / electrical technology. * Configures security systems, which utilize both core and third party security products and systems / electrical technology as defined by the project specification or on retrofit projects while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. * Orders material from both internal sources and / or external vendors, and expedites as necessary. Ensures timely delivery to appropriate locations. * Completes all required commissioning documentation. Provides accurate information for asbuilts documentation. * Assists engineering and sales by providing technical recommendations to produce job layouts and bid proposals. * Performs site-specific training for owner / operator on the total system. * Adheres to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. * Maintains appropriate local and National Security Industry Certifications. * Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Continuous proactive customer interactions including an in-depth understanding of customer(s) needs wants and systems currently in place. Plans for future needs with customer that include recommending complete systems enhancements and promoting the sale of add-on work. * Assists in monitoring project execution per plan. * May mentor Security Technicians on tools and technology. Serves as a Security Team technical resource. May assist sales in development of cost estimate on complex projects. * Adheres to and follows safety guidelines and policies at all times. What we look for Required * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum 3 years experience * Demonstrated knowledge of new construction and retrofit security industry. * Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols. Preferred * Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. * Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related software tools related to security systems.
