You, as the Lead Structural Engineer, will have a leadership role in driving this growth with the other office leadership. You will manage your structural and bridge projects, as well as be task lead on other projects being managed by others, both in Missouri and for other WSP offices. The position will focus on transportation design; however, projects will include a combination of bridge structural design and bridge management services, including inspection as well as other areas. You will develop your engineering expertise as well as your business skills to enhance your career and be an integral part of WSP's successful team. The position will involve assisting our existing clients achieve their success by helping to deliver their infrastructure programs. The clients include City's, County, State agencies as well as Universities, and private clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Manager and/or Task Lead on structural and bridge related design

  • Participate in and lead multi-disciplinary teams on transportation designs, plan production

  • Client engagement on a regular basis

  • Manage project tasks and budgets, and supervise staff

  • Support marketing activities to include information gathering

  • Proposal development

  • Preparation and development of project scope of work and cost proposals and other duties as required

  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance for the preparation of high-quality documents, plans and proposals

  • Successfully manage numerous assignments at one time

  • Mentor younger staff

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSCE from an ABET Accredited Institution. Master's Degree desirable.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Missouri or ability to obtain within three months

  • 7 to 9 Years of Experience

  • Ability to work in the United States immediately required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communication and writing skills

  • Demonstrated experience in working integrally on interdisciplinary teams on challenging project

  • Demonstrated ability to serve and retain clients thus expand business

  • Demonstrated experience with MoDOT and/or other state transportation agencies and local public agencies

  • Design-Build experience a plus

  • Knowledge of the interrelationship of design and federal permitting (NEPA, NPDES, 404, etc.)

  • Past projects using AASHTO Bridge Design specifications, State agencies bridge design manuals and bridge inspection manuals.

  • Possess a high level of technical expertise

  • High level of technical expertise, with experience in advanced analysis methods and design of pre-stressed concrete and steel bridges. You will responsible for QA for your team.

  • Experience with engineering software such as: AASHTOware Bridge, LARSA or other FEA, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MDX, MATHCAD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK, INROADS

  • Experience with collaboration software such as: ProjectWise, and MS SharePoint.

  • Microsoft software products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint

The Packaging Engineer in this role is required to drive change, development and execution of category strategies, ensuring optimal specifications of items are used, and to engage with supplier base and internal cross-functional teams.
