Summary
The Lead Sterile Processing Technician assists supervisors in the operations within the Sterile Processing Department of the Hospital. The Sterile Processing Lead Technician serves as a resource staff and assure policies and procedures are followed. The Lead serves as a resource for staff and customers regarding sterilization, processing of surgical instruments and surgical inventory/Case Cart management and storage. Participates in the departmental patient safety and performance improvement initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate:
Has Monitors and assists Sterile Processing staff to ensure that all functions are carried out according to policies and procedures and compliance with applicable Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
Has experience with training new staff
Has a working knowledge of all functions within the Sterile Processing Department
Credentials and Qualifications:
Three (3) years' experience as Central Sterile Processing Technician upon hire.
High School Diploma/GED
Experience and working knowledge of all functions within the Sterile Processing Department and can perform all duties within the area assigned.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) upon hire; Or
Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) upon hire.
