Job Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology organization as a Lead SRE. In this role, you will be responsible for leading stability, availability and reliability of our applications and platforms

Responsibilities

  • Engineering leadership in Observability, Resilience Architecture, Resilience Testing, and Incident Management across LPL Systems

  • Finding opportunities to improve system performance and efficiency, scalability, fault tolerance, and self-healing capabilities.

  • Apply Chaos Engineering principles and creatively experiment with LPL systems to discover hidden weaknesses.

  • Improve overall observability by implementing monitoring, metrics, logs and Service Level Objectives (SLO)

  • Identify opportunities and develop AIOps telemetry for applications - proactive, automated monitoring, and alerting solutions by utilizing available tools (ELK, DynaTrace, Splunk, Honeycomb, Service Now etc.)

  • Working with developers to establish NoOps culture, empowering developers with next-generation self-service options

  • Activate a high performing, continuously improving 24x7 L2 organization and our customers.

  • Fanatically protect customer experience through capabilities and processes that detect and restore system issues as quickly as possible (through telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and both automated and manual recovery)

  • Relentlessly drive towards real root cause, drive incident reduction and improving application availability

  • Develop strategy, roadmaps, and metrics that communicate and enable transparency into operational KPIs, key risks, and progress.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing outcome-oriented engineers, including onshore, nearshore, and offshore personnel.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in software development leading, cultivating, and establishing strong, high-performing teams.

  • 4+ years' experience in leveraging Observability and Monitoring tools to derive critical insights and improve Failed Client Interactions (FCI)

  • 3+ years' experience with Splunk, App Dynamics, Honeycomb, Dynatrace, Grafana, NewRelic, DataDog monitoring, and alerts

  • 3+ years' experience DevOps and or DevSecOps

  • Data-driven leader who establishes OKRs, KPIs and inspires the delivery of customer-centric solutions.

  • Holistic view of and genuine appreciation for reliability, borne of real-world experience operating production services

  • Using software engineering and SRE practices to solve operational problems

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and can build strong relationships with your inclusive communication methods.

  • Strong ownership, drive for results, and sense of urgency on issue resolution and outcomes

  • Strategic leader who anticipates the future, inspires the team to improve reliability that enable delightful experiences at scale

Preferences:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology leadership roles that span across operations, platform, and engineering preferably within a financial service or related FinTech firm.

  • Demonstrate business acumen and the ability to interact with senior leaders, including developing, presenting, and gaining approval on business cases and funding requests.

  • Actively anticipates, identifies, and manages risks within position scope and at the company.

  • Consensus-builder who drives change across initiatives within and outside direct accountability and evaluates solutions to the most complex business challenges.

Pay Range:

$111,600-$167,400/year

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
