Lead Software QA Engineer

Purpose

The Lead Software QA Engineer will be responsible for driving our software testing and quality assurance efforts. In this role, this position will be responsible for leading a team of QA Engineers, developing and implementing testing strategies, creating robust automation frameworks, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of QA Engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and technical expertise

• Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies, plans, and processes across different projects and development cycles

• Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure thorough test coverage

• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using industry-standard tools and best practices

• Continuously improve and optimize testing processes, tooling, and frameworks for efficiency and effectiveness

• Research, identify, and implement best practices for testing methodologies, techniques, and tools

• Analyze and report test results, defects, and quality metrics to stakeholders

• Participate in risk analysis, test planning, and test estimation activities

• Ensure adherence to quality standards, coding practices, and process compliance across the team

• Contribute to the overall quality strategy and vision for the organization

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance roles

• Strong hands-on experience in creating and maintaining automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar

• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby for test automation

• Solid understanding of software development life cycles, Agile methodologies, and testing best practices

• Experience leading and mentoring QA teams, providing technical guidance and coaching

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with performance testing, security testing, or other specialized testing domains

• Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, qTest, or similar)

• Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CAST, or similar)
