Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Engineering helps our clients grow their wealth. In other words, Wealth completes the promise we've made to our clients.

By bringing investments and insurance together into one comprehensive plan, we help our clients strive toward their complete financial picture. Our systems are varied and across vendors and in-house platforms. We bring in data from multiple vendors, pull it together into a single data platform and share it with different consumers.

We are also a heavily regulated business that works across different regulators (FINRA. SEC, OCC, etc.).

Team Description: As a Solution Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in the Wealth & Investment Management Data, Reporting & Analytics Delivery teams.

These teams are accountable for the development and maintenance of our data platform and delivery. Our data is used by users across our Home Office and Field, enabling them to provide unparalleled financial services to our clients. If this sounds exciting, read on.

• Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices across department.

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements, transforming them into scalable and secure technical solutions.

• Design and architect software solutions with a forward-thinking approach, prioritizing performance, scalability, and seamless integration. Your work will be grounded in industry and enterprise best practices.

• Dive into development and software engineering tasks while guiding/mentoring the team towards delivering top-tier solutions. Your hands-on leadership will set the bar for excellence.

• Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and overall team performance. Your keen eye for optimization will shape our future success.

Qualifications:

• Academic Excellence: Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

• Seasoned Expertise: Boast 6-8 years of experience in software development and solution architecture.
  
  Understanding of the Wealth & Investment domain space at the product and process levels. Self-motivated to learn new technologies and face new challenges. Ability to identify and analyze problems and find resolutions.

• Architectural Prowess: Showcase strong expertise in solution architecture, backed by a proven track record of delivering complex, scalable systems.

• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in software development languages such as Python, Spark or JavaScript (Node, React) coupled with experience in modern frameworks and technologies.
  
  Strong understanding of Data, SQL & database modeling. Experience working with cloud (AWS), distributed computing & Databricks a plus

• Communication and Leadership: Possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, fostering effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  
  Experience developing and leading solution delivery using agile methods. Ability to successfully communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail.

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
