General Function

As part of a cross-functional Agile development team, the Lead Quality Engineer's primary role is to ensure quality through delivery of test automation best practices. Responsibilities include developing new test automation frameworks using various automation tools, maintaining existing test automation code with a high degree of quality, leveraging strong software design and test automation principles, and using personal ingenuity and creativity to find new ways to test software solutions.

The Lead Quality Engineer works hand-in-hand with all members of the Agile team to determine customer and product requirements and their applicability to product code and test code. They also perform manual testing when needed. They must continually partner to openly exchange ideas and opinions, elevate concerns, and follow quality policies and procedures as defined by Fifth Third's quality governance standards.

Essential Responsibilities

Own-Own and be accountable for test strategy, test planning, framework implementation/extension and test execution within the agile team

Code- Implement high-quality, reusable, maintainable test automation code using various automation tools and frameworks.

Triage- Efficiently reproduce reported software problems, analyze data, and work with other team members to quickly remove obstacles.

Problem Solve- Resolve difficult issues, often times with little information, spanning across multiple applications.

Develop and Organize Tests- Create structured, clean, and cohesive test cases for all new features and/or functional changes in the software, organized into repeatable test suites.

Document- Ensure testing activities always grow collective team knowledge through strong documentation and notes.

Build Expertise- Build a deep understanding of Fifth Third products and services while sharing testing knowledge and best practices with all members of the Agile team.

Research-Study emerging test tools, trends, and methodologies that will enhance existing systems and processes.

Key Skills

  • 5+ years' experience in Quality Engineering

  • Experience developing automation frameworks from the ground up and developing test suites

  • Advanced programming experience in Javascript and/or Java

  • 4 years' experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

  • Experience with front-end automated testing in Selenium WebDriver or an equivalent

  • Experience with application life cycle management tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Version1, Quality Center

  • Cloud working in a cloud environment, preferably AWS

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in performance testing using JMeter, Gatling or equivalent

  • Exposure to accessibility testing

  • Worked in a BDD environment

The Quality Engineering Manager supports projects of major scope and significance to the company with full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments for the Quality Engineering Team. This is a key role on the Enseal cross-functional new product development and life cycle management teams. Responsibilities: * Act as a mentor to more junior staff and will advise the Energy Platform Leadership on quality and technical matters. * Utilize Quality Engineering tools and methods for the effective and efficient development, transfer, and stabilization of products/processes throughout the product lifecycle. * Utilize Quality Engineering principles and problem-solving skills to develop and optimize products/processes that are aligned with the overall quality and business vision. * Ensure effective risk management to prevent unanticipated failure modes and improve capability of processes. * Participate in design reviews, help develop control plans, monitor complaint trends and interface with customers through design validations, customer support calls, and customer visits. * Will partner closely with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Global Sales and Marketing. * Lead Quality Engineering function for Enseal product family within the Energy Product Platform * Lead a team of Quality Engineers including resource planning, hiring, training & development, assignment planning, supervision, mentoring and performance evaluations * Advise leadership on Enseal product quality matters * Support product design reviews * Address quality and regulatory compliance issues. * Support compliance with emerging regulations and standard * Participate in internal and external audits * Manage cost/budget for Enseal team * Solve highly technical problems using structure problem-solving methods Qualifications Required: * A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field * 8 years related experience * 2 years of experience in a management/supervisory role * Experience working in a regulated industry * In-depth knowledge of product/process Risk Management * Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards * Knowledge of statistics, sampling plans, measurement systems analysis and reliability * Strong mentoring, coaching and leadership skills * Experience in supervising and directing the work of others * Ability to use data to make decisions * Good communication skills Preferred: * Advanced Degree * Quality Engineering experience * New product development experience This position is located in Cincinnati, OH and will require up to 10% travel.
