About the Role

GoodRx is looking for a fast learning, passionate lead backend engineer to be part of our Brand Drug Solutions engineering team. Our mission is to empower long-term patient access to the best treatment through smart, simple and transparent solutions. We build products and processes that ensure GoodRx is the go-to place for brand drug patients to find care, and for our pharma partners to reach patients in need.

You will be responsible for development and maintenance of processes, backend services and APIs that power our manufacturer sponsored products within GoodRx. In this role you will be involved in the design, implementation, deployment and operations of new or existing products, services and APIs needed to support new functionality. You'll also be collaborating with other engineering teams within GoodRx.

The ideal candidate will be able to quickly turn ideas from inception to final product in a fast-paced and friendly environment. You should be comfortable learning new technologies as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive projects with autonomy by collaborating with teams across the organization including product managers, designers, platform, devops, data, product and analytics to think beyond the technical implications of your design decisions

  • Write clean, fast, compatible, easy-to-use, and testable code to turn ideas into production quality products.

  • Maintain an understanding of the business requirements and work closely with stakeholders to understand what they need and why.

  • Lead the architectural evolution of Brand Drug Systems, across squads.

  • Make smart engineering and product decisions based on data analysis and collaboration.

  • Mentor and be mentored by other engineers by leading and collaborating in all engineering discussions and evangelizing engineering best practices.

  • Promote a culture of operational excellence by meticulously testing and monitoring our systems and code, writing documentation, and being on-call to support the health of our services

  • Collaborate, learn, and grow

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of professional experience working as an engineer

  • 5+ years of lead in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction

  • Ability to deal with ambiguous and complex project requirements, and collaborate to design effective and efficient solutions.

  • Significant experience designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining cloud-based web services and microservices (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)

  • Extensive experience with multiple programming languages (Go, Java, Python, C#) Familiarity with front end and internal UI technologies (ReTool, Salesforce Communities, HTML, CSS, etc.)

  • Strong experience with relational and non-relational database technologies

  • Effective verbal and written communicator

  • Experience with observability and monitoring systems (Datadog, Sumo Logic, Cloudwatch, Sentry, etc.)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative degree

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience building gRPC APIs in Go

  • Experience with AWS technologies including RDS, Lambda, S3

  • Experience in React or GraphQL

  • Experience with containers, Docker, and Kubernetes

At GoodRx, pay ranges are determined based on work locations and may vary based on where the successful candidate is hired. The pay ranges below are shown as a guideline, and the successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors. These pay zones may be modified in the future. Please contact your recruiter for additional information.

San Francisco and Seattle Offices:

$180,000.00 - $288,000.00

New York Office:

$165,000.00 - $264,000.00

Santa Monica Office:

$150,000.00 - $240,000.00

Other Office Locations:

$135,000.00 - $216,000.00
