What You'll Do

You're deeply motivated Lead Software Engineer who can make a difference in the team with their out of box thinking and brings in plethora of multicast protocol experience in areas such as next generation mVPN extranet and other technologies

  • You will be responsible for defining the Multicast charter for Cisco, providing architectural leadership, and partnering with customers, exercising influence to drive Cisco Recommended Solutions, and co-developing innovative multicast solutions to solve their critical business needs.

  • Proven track record in articulating thought leadership in multicast or related technologies.

  • Past experience in successful execution on product delivery through entire lifecycle: requirements, design, development & post deplicustomer support.

Cisco NeXT Multicast team is responsible for driving the Multicast vision for Cisco and executing on it to transform the world of Service Providers, Data Centers and Enterprises around the World. If Yes, we are looking for you to be part of our Multicast PI Software Development Team @ NeXT in Cisco.

Who You AreMinimum Qualifications:

  • B.S in CS (or EE) with equivalent experience

  • Extremely proficient in Multicast technologies such as mVPN, Segment Routing, L2VPN and EVPN technologies

  • Extremely strong grounding in data structures and algorithms

  • Extremely strong programming skills in C.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in CS, EE or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years experience working with multicast protocols such as PIM, IGMP, mLDP, MSDP, AutoRP.

  • 10+ years of experience in programming in C language.

  • Experience in dynamic routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS.

  • In-depth understanding of packet forwarding, operating systems internals, algorithms, and computer architecture is highly desirable

  • Working knowledge of Linux and open source networking stacks.

  • Strong knowledge of how MPLS works including LDP, RSVP-TE is required

  • Experience configuring and automating the deployment of MPLS based VPNs (MVPN, L3VPN, L2VPN) is strongly desired.

  • Hands on experience with Cisco Routers (core, edge or access).

  • Experience using test tools (ideally Ixia or Spirent) to simulate the topologies mentioned above and to create traffic for these is strongly desirable

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Excellent teamwork and people skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals

  • Flexibility and openness to change

  • Self-motivated and highly ambitious

  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux. Experience using RTOS (ex: QNX, VxWorks)

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols (ex: TCP/IP, Multicast)

  • Understanding datacenter technologies/concepts like VxLAN, Segment-Routing, Traffic-Engineering
