    The Job:
    As a Lead Software Engineer on the VinSolutions customer team, you will be a part of a software team that designs and develops robust and scalable web services and consumer facing applications. A successful candidate is self-motivated, with the drive to excel and exceed commitments. You thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere where wearing multiple hats is encouraged. You learn new skills and technology quickly. You have strong collaboration/communication skills, as you will be a member of a scrum team consisting of other software engineers and a product owner who are intensely collaborating in meaningful way. You are team-oriented. You provide leadership in designing solutions as well as mentoring more junior developers and collaborating with peers.
    Technologies We Use:

  • Development languages/frameworks: C#, .NET, JavaScript, ReactJs

  • Cloud Based Platforms/Services: AWS SDK, Elastic Beanstalk, ElastiCache, S3, Lamda, Cloudwatch, Docker and AWS cloud-native architectures

  • DevOps Tools: Terraform, NewRelic, AWS CodeBuild, Splunk
    Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of software engineers that design and develop code that consistently adheres to good programming practices; provide technical expertise to team members

  • Build modern UIs using ReactJs

  • Actively engage in architectural sessions and provide solutions to complex problems

  • Partake in code review and enforce coding standards

  • Design, develop, and maintain high volume Microsoft .NET C# web services using industry standard tools and frameworks.

  • Design and maintain schemas in our databases

  • Collaborate with product managers and technologists to solve business problems

  • Live by Agile (particularly Scrum) principles and collaborate with team members using Agile techniques including test driven development, code reviews, and retrospectives

  • Maintain Cox Automotives position as an industry leader by exploring new technologies, languages, and techniques in the rapidly evolving world of software engineering
    Qualifications:
  • Passionate technologists with an innovative mindset

  • Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of professional application development experience with a proven ability to deliver projects on time

  • Highly proficient with programming paradigms such as object oriented/functional programming

  • Hands-on experience with designing and implementing on AWS is preferred

  • Expertise with designing and implementing high volume web services

  • Strong database development skills, including advanced SQL, relational and NoSQL database technologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to work with team members to deliver projects on deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Lead Software Engineer plays a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging technology trends. * Agile Planning* * Works with Product Management to understand the challenges that customers and end users face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions. * Recommends viable solutions to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt. * Foresees capacity requirements for component usage and identifies limitations. * Provides input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning. * Product Development* * Contributes to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems. * Builds software applications across multiple platforms in response to the needs of stakeholders. * Understands technical architecture and writes software and automated tests that are aligned with agreed upon standards. * Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary. * Application Support* * Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products. * Advice and Guidance* * Actively works with less experienced software engineers providing technical guidance and oversight.
