Clean Harbors is currently seeking a Software Team Lead to manage a team of developers in the creation, modification and support of in-house and / or 3rd party business applications. The Team Lead will work closely with project management and business analysists to identify, define and prioritize software development projects within their domains.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.

  • Collaborates with Project Managers to manage development team projects and resources, determine and assign team member tasks, and report on progress for software development.

  • Collaborates with Business Analysts to determine feasible solutions to business objectives.

  • Performs code reviews and otherwise monitors team for adherence to design and process guidance.

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle

  • Leads development / design meetings, provides implementation direction, reviews and approves proposed solutions.

  • Responsible for project and task estimates of the team.

  • Ensure on-going support levels and monitor / resolve production support issues to ensure systems remain available to the business.

  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Perform all HR management tasks necessary for development of the team and its members including hiring, performance reviews, compensation and promotion decisions and corrective actions.

  • Mentor, assist and guide the career development of all direct reports.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree required, specialization in Engineering strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong understanding of C#, VB.NET, SQL, ASP.NET. and Javascript technologies and how to apply them successfully to create scalable, maintainable business applications

  • Preferred experience: JQuery, AJAX, WCF, EDI, CXML, PIDX

  • Interpersonal and team management skills, Teamwork

  • Written and verbal communication, Attention to detail

  • Analyzing information, Software Documentation, Software Testing, Problem Solving

  • Software Development Fundamentals, Software Development Process, Software Requirements

The Energy Engineer will work under CHA's Mechanical-Energy Technical Group and will be responsible for completing facility energy audits, including data collection, utility analyses, energy calculations and cost estimates. The Energy Engineer will also assist with projects such as energy modeling, CHP analysis, renewable energy applications (solar PV, battery storage, geothermal, biomass), commissioning and retro-commissioning, as well as measurement and verification. Responsibilities * Perform ASHRAE Level I, II, and III Energy audits of commercial, institutional and industrial facilities. * Perform measurement and verification tasks using data logging tools (HOBO loggers, air/ water flow meters, electrical meters). * Assist with building commissioning/retro-commissioning tasks; create OPR, commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, functional checklists, O&M plans, M&V plans and final reports. * Write technical energy reports. * Complete spreadsheet (Excel) based energy savings calculations; create calculations as needed for custom measures. * Review calculations performed by others for accuracy. * Represent CHA at client meetings. * Complete field work as required. * Allocates billable time to projects. * Other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications Required: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related bachelor's degree required. * 2 years minimum of mechanical engineering and/or energy engineering related professional work experience required. * Must have understanding of building automation systems, steam, hot water, chilled water, and HVAC systems and components. * Excellent oral and written communication skills required. * Good interpersonal and leadership skills required. * Must have strong ability to practically apply engineering knowledge. * Must have strong ability to work and/or lead in a team environment. * Must have valid US driver's license. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to walk throughout large facilities that may require PPE such as steel toe shoes, hardhat, eye and ear protection and/or respirator. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs to access roof or other locations. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation. Travel by car within 300 miles of office can be expected occasionally. Travel by plane can be expected occasionally. Preferred: * Prior mechanical consulting engineering experience is preferred, but not required. * Prior mechanical design experience through professional work, and/or internship experience preferred. * Professional work and/or internship experience with HVAC, steam, hot water, chilled water, and compressed air systems preferred. * Experience with renewable energy projects (PV, CHP, battery storage, distributed generation, microgrids, biomass) preferred. * Commissioning experience is a plus. * Trane Trace or other building modeling knowledge is a plus.
