Lead SIU Test Engineer

Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced Simulation Interface Unit (SIU) Lead Test Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency Director for Ground Test (MDA/DTG) in Huntsville, AL. The Lead Test Engineer will participate in MDA Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) and Distributed test events by managing a team responsible for remotely operating SIUs and operating the OSF framework software located in Missile Defense System (MDS) Element HWIL laboratories.

• Manages day-to-day operations of the operator team comprised of members supporting from Colorado Springs, Colorado (COS) and Huntsville, Alabama (HSV).

• Conducts meetings with operator team members, providing guidance and coordination as necessary with schedules for test event support.

• Attends meetings and provides input on areas of expertise where applicable.

• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customer consultation and problem resolution in matters regarding test event support.

• Collaborates with external engineering groups to improve or upgrade product performance.

• Provides technical consultation to other organizations as needed.

• Monitors the gathering of test data; executes post-run data collection scripts and moves data to a central location for uploading to the MDA data center.

• Maintains active accounts with appropriate user permissions.

• Follow procedures and document departures from normal procedures.

• Monitors computer resources (e.g., available hard disk space) on each SIU and reports when resources are insufficient to support testing.

• Maintains daily run log sheets.

• Writes and follows procedures, document configuration requirements and changes, and verifies system, software, and hardware settings continuously.

• Reports anomalous simulation behavior and work with M&S Integration team members to coordinate for event connectivity requirements.

• Executes simulation framework applications.

• Proactively troubleshoots and overcomes functional/technical problems.

• Data collection, documentation and reporting on all the above responsibilities as required.

• Perform other IT duties as assigned to realize mission success.

Job Requirements

• Master's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience and 10 + years applicable progressively complex related experience

• Experience with Linux Systems; experience writing Linux scripts is a plus

• Capable of working in a team environment that includes participant lab personnel, M&S Integrators and Mission Test Directors, and other MDA stakeholders.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Attention to details and troubleshooting.

• Multi-disciplinary team to solve technically complex problems.

• Active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills

• DoD 8570 IAT level II employment (e.g., Security+ CE, Network +CE or higher or Linux +)
• Previous experience with the Missile Defense Agency or Missile Defense System elements or components or equivalent system of system environments
