Reporting to our Technical Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supporting customer projects and for optimizing customer processes and conditions while providing education to external customers on how to run PolyOne materials. This role will support our sales team and serve as a liaison to our plants. This role requires ability to operate with little to no direction. The incumbent may be accountable for or participate in the resolution of customer complaints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the sales team by providing technical expertise to identify the best possible solution for the customers.
Serve as a technical resource to other team members locally or globally.
Identify technical specifications required for established PolyOne customers.
Participate in the development of scale up, process testing plans and procedures, data analysis and/or communication of the results.
Provide technical service support in preparation for and during on-site customer trials
Give technical presentations and lead technical discussions during customer visits
Development of new applications, product launch testing plans, data analysis and/or communication of the results
Document and prepare product specifications incorporating PolyOne products and services into customer applications.
Material development and selection
Participate in the resolution of customer complaints/issues. *LI-CB1
5-7 years related experience with at least 2 years' experience in High Temp polymers
Working knowledge of high temperature with a specific focus on extrusion and Injection Molding
Familiar with value creation and value selling through product performance and processing
Knowledge of high temperature polymers is a valuable asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Proven ability to apply complex analytical and critical thinking skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills.
Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other related field
Attend trade shows and conferences as necessary.
Self-motivated team player with an ability to multi-task
Well organized, reliable and able to work autonomously
Demonstrate initiative and sense of urgency.
Willingness to travel with sales team up to 50%
