Job Description

The Lead Server will be responsible for providing prompt, courteous service for the guest by supervising the wait staff during the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Restaurant or Assistant Restaurant Manager as requested• Ensures that all tables and trolleys are set up that linen and tableware are clean and in good condition. • Ensures that setting up is up to Restaurant Standards after meal periods.• Ensures that the waiter/esses within assigned sections are thoroughly trained in their duties and are knowledgeable about the various dishes prepared by the kitchen.• Assists in the pouring of wine as appropriate.• Insures that the dining areas are kept in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.• In the absence of Restaurant or Assistant Restaurant Manager:a) Ensures that the staff is properly informed to provide the required service.b) Contacts guests with special dietary requirements.c) Handles guest requests for special (off the menu) items.d) Ensures that the dining room staff meets service standards.e) Ensures that employees smile at guest and greet by name.f) Ensures that all passenger requests, inquiries and concerns are responded to promptly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Two years restaurant experience.

  • High volume experience.

  • Good food and service knowledge.

  • Some wine knowledge.

  • Pleasant personality.

  • Excellent communication skills.
