Your Impact

  • Prior to design contract requests, gather and define customer's design requirements and prepare solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters.

  • Create design and construction documents, prepare project specifications, develop record control documents, and generate presentation graphics.

  • Collect, prepare, and report programmatic information and official weekly project status reports.

  • Coordinate design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, security, construction, and other related functional areas.

  • Ensure compliance with Building Codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

  • Assist with design reviews of Government projects.

  • Assist with client engagement, design thinking, and quality control.

  • Provide a complete service for the Comprehensive Interior Design CID, including the SID and FF&E packages following the Government resources.

  • Develop the project phases, including Programming, Schematic Design SD, Develop Design DD, and Construction Administration CA.

  • Develop the DD1391, including the furniture cost and fees.

  • Provide a professional presentation to support the interior work during the Government/Client meetings and include professional rendering to enhance the design clarification.

  • Develop high-level cost for construction utilizing historical and research data.

  • Prepare reports and cost and schedule estimates.

  • Manage project design and/or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.

  • Evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests.

  • Prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets; provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction-related issues; direct design efforts; recommend construction documents for approval; and provide oversight of any follow-on maintenance programs.

  • Optimize performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements.

  • Ensure integration of all systems, including information technology, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or interior design.

  • NCIDQ Certificate.

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience.

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and rendering Programs.

  • Due to client requirements, the ability to obtain a Secret level US Security clearance is required.

  • Candidates must have the knowledge, curiosity, passion, and experience executing DoD, the United Facilities Criteria (UFC) system, and Federal work in various OCONUS locations around the world.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Knowledge and experience with building planning, drawing standards, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of restorative and new design projects.

  • Strong creative, visualization, and technical drawing skills.

  • Working knowledge of processes and concepts for sustainability, green building design, and reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances/greenhouse gases.

  • Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant building and construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

  • Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of interior design principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons and illustrations to the appropriate regulations.

  • Ability to plan and conduct inspections and field surveys when required.

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.

  • Demonstrated a high level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Provide professional QA/QC.

  • Proficient with technical writing for interior reports and narrative.

  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, feedback, statistical analysis, and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret level US Security Clearance

  • Master's Degree is preferred.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $93,600 - $138,930

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
