About the Position:
This is an open-continuous announcement for Lead Security Guards in several locations. Initial cut-off will be March 5th, 2018 then every two weeks or as needed thereafter. Recruitment will continue through the closing date to fill positions as they become vacant. Applications are valid for 3 months in the system. Applicants must reapply after the 3 month time period expires to remain active.
Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veteran's Preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. Applications will be accepted from non-preference eligibles; however, these applications will not be considered if preference eligible applicants are available.
This announcement covers multiple installations; pay will be set within the range for the installation for which you are applying.

Provide information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel issues.
Operate and maintain the Physical Access Control System (PACS) registrar.
Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC/NCICC) terminal in accordance with Federal and State laws.
Verify personal credentials, print visitor passes/badges, create and edit card holder records and run card and/or pass access reports.
Answer brief visitor questions, determine whether appropriate authorization for access exists and provide assistance.

Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a T3 level security clearance.
IAW AR 190-56, requirements of Individual Reliability Program apply.
IAW AR 600-85, a DA Form 5019R Condition of Employment must be assigned for mandatory drug testing. Drug testing designated position. Individual agrees to submit to a urinalysis on a recurring basis, in accordance with AR 600-85.
Shift work is required, or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
Incumbent must be proficient in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initialqualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons.
Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability.
Incumbent must successfully complete security guard training.
Incumbent must successfully complete CPR certification and First Aid training.
Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment, and may be required to be certified in the use of aerosol irritants and baton.
Incumbent will be required to pass entry level and annual re-certification of standard Army physical fitness/agility test.
Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
Incumbent must wear prescribed uniform.
This position is designated as a Key Position IAW AR 690-11. Civilians in key positions must be exempted from recall to active duty bcause of Reserve or retired military obligations (FORT KNOX APPLICANTS ONLY).

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience;
Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: performing installation access, using physical access control equipment, safeguarding personnel, information and critical assets, recording visitor information and determining whether appropriate authorization for access exists. This example of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the GS-05 or like grade level.
