This manufacturing company is seeking a Lead Robotic Technical Support for their Welding Department. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
Support the operation of eight robot cells
Perform Mig Weld on fixtures
Assist the Technical Service Manager in data collection to support continuous weld fixtures
Read blueprints, AWS Welding Symbols, and GDT
Utilize Microsoft Excel


Requirements:

Qualifications:
Must have experience in Robotic and Mig Welding
Must be proficient with Robot Cells and job activity
Must be able to read blueprints and AWS Welding Symbols
Must have basic knowledge of GDT, machining, and automation
Must be proficient with Excel

PURPOSE: This individual shall conceptualize, design and provide project management of general industry (GI) tooling in the robotic engineering group. The ideal candidate has experience with holding fixtures (tooling) for weldments. The candidate will possess the ability to work among cross-functional teams from applications, sales, project management, and tool design teams often times at other geographic locations and facilities - to implement a successful tooling experience for each customer. JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES): * Fast-paced work environment and ability to multitask and work to established milestone dates –project duration can be 4-16 weeks depending on complexity. * Strong mechanical aptitude for engineering custom & prototype mechanisms * Develop & assist to quote tooling concepts for opportunities provided by sales team & Sr. Engineers. * Support tooling orders from PO receipt to successful implementation on the customer floor. * Interaction and involvement with related personnel during design, fabrication, integration, tuning, and demonstration of equipment * Frequent interaction with customer during development of tooling related products. * Work closely with project manager(s) to coordinate timely delivery of tooling related deliverables for the robotic systems. * Take initiative to meet challenging project timelines and budgets (hours and material). * Ability to act as designer and detailer for small-scale projects or portions of large scale projects. * Assist in compiling related documentation such as procedures, parts lists, manuals, & drawings. * Ensure that product, as designed, is in conformance with quote and customer purchase order. * Provide technical assistance to estimating, sales, production and service as required. * Work well in a team environment and communication groups may include; Sales, End users, Machine builders, Project Management, Engineering Teams, Management, and support functions. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: * Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. General Industry experience is preferred. * Must have 3 years of 3-D modeling & design experience * Exposure to or ability to learn general industry tooling requirements for simple to complex weldments. * Computer proficiency, including MS office & project management software. * Project management experience. * Proficient with at least one CAD/PDM package and willingness to learn others.
