Job Description


This position will be primarily responsible for supporting a broad range of Modeling and Valuation activities including, but not limited to, developing and managing validation for non-market observable curves, creating, validating, and publishing monthly energy margin reports by plant, creating and managing daily price curve workflows, maintaining model change process, assisting with updates and validation of existing C++ models, performing quality assurance of Risk reports and supporting cross-functional development projects which would enhance existing risk data systems. The analyst will deal with numerous aspects of commodity risk including market risk, credit risk, operational risk and compliance.


  • Perform validation of gas and coal dispatch models (C++)Generate, review and publish Monthly Energy Margin Reports

  • Develop and manage pricing processes across multiple systems (Allegro, Backpac and Morningstar)

  • Interface with front office traders, planning, accounting, pricing, confirmation and deal entry, and other EFH reporting groups to meet ad hoc report requests.

  • Support cross-functional development/enhancement projects across all risk systems.

  • Support valuation of new commodities, products and locations.

  • Communicate changes and drivers of market prices.

  • Validate trader marks against broker quotes

  • Help validate settlement discrepancies

  • Perform price curve visibility assessments for quarterly reporting

  • Perform data integrity checks across all systems

  • Help manage and investigate system defects


  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or related quantitative discipline

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access and Power Point).

  • Experience with VBA, SQL, SAS or other coding language

This position will be a part of the Network Security Risk Management & Compliance team and will be focused on actively assessing risk for the teams building, operating, and managing network assets. This team is responsible for implementing & managing the risk management and compliance program for detection and monitoring of risks, vulnerabilities, and evolving threats. The team is also responsible for driving compliance of security controls for all network assets. This is done through the strategic partnership with business units as well as Enterprise Security. The candidate will be responsible for actively participating in developing and managing the security governance framework materials (policies, controls, standards) to drive consistent security treatment across the Network teams. The candidate will also participate in the review of security exceptions and will be required to have a firm understanding of corporate policies and controls in order to effectively assess the risk identified. The candidate should: * Demonstrate extensive knowledge and/or proven record of success in risk management principles or another technical domain related to Risk Management that is applied in the context of a broader Risk Management understanding * Contribute to the development of new subject matter or technical domain related to Risk Management * Demonstrate extensive abilities and/or proven record of success in the following areas: resolving multi-faceted problems by continuously applying significant independent judgement and by collaborating with others, balancing business stakeholders and a centralized cyber security organization; navigating a matrix organization, collaborating with multiple stakeholders across functional and technical skillsetsEffectively navigate diverse perspectives and promote an inclusive and collaborative environment to realize beneficial security governance solutions. * Facilitate security governance conversations with diverse security, IT and business stakeholders and help ensure positive and deliberate outcomes. * Manage project tasks with urgency and purpose to allow for swift movement in developing governance related initiatives. * Deliver and report key metrics to provide stakeholders situational awareness regarding enterprise control and standards adoption. * Consistently deliver high quality work products that fully address the criteria for which they were intended. * Deconstruct complex security processes and solutions to identify relevant risk areas, potential control points, and provide sound recommendations for risk treatment. * As a contributor, take ownership for assigned areas of responsibility and effectively manage work load to meet team deadlines. * Effectively communicate in written form and verbally to leadership and executives. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience * Three or more years of relevant work experience. * NIST 800-53, ISO 27001-2, or other security frameworks. Even better if you have: * Degree in Information Systems, Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security or related field. * Experience in Information Security, Technology, IT Operations, or Security Risk Management. * Knowledge of the various TCP/UDP protocols and their security posture. * Understanding of Secure Operating System Configuration principles. * Certifications: CRISC, CISSP, CISM, GSEC. * Knowledge of emerging technology/ regulations and the security governance implications. * Experience implementing standards, policies and controls. * Understanding of cyber security risk management concepts, cybersecurity frameworks, control standards, secure coding principles, and security technologies. * Knowledge of information security fundamentals, best practices and industry standards with responsibilities of protecting information assets. * Understanding of Verizon business operations and knowledge of the foundational technologies used across environments. * Experience in security risk management while considering business drivers and implications. * Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment. * Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to complex business issues. 22CyberRISK When you join Verizon...
