Provides efficient, effective, quality customer service through a variety of general office duties including scheduling, taking messages, checking patients in and out, entering charges, collecting payments, and entering information into computer. Serves as a liaison between the Supervisor, Reception Services and other receptionists, communicating policy and procedure and assisting in workload distribution. Provides EPIC computer entry and support for physician scheduling.


  • Greets patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.

  • Checks in patients, verifies and updates information in EPICsystem.

  • Receives payments from patients, issues receipts, reconciles daily cash and charge terminal.

  • Answers multipletele phone lines, screens calls, takes messages, and accurately directs calls to appropriate recipient.

  • Provides overall direction, training and support for other receptionists.

  • Attends to patients in waiting area and ensures they are seen in a timely manner or are promptly notified of unexpected delays.

  • Workswithsupervisortodevelopandadheretopoliciesandprocedures.

  • Makes appointments and answers inquiries.

  • Serves as a team leader, fostering teamwork and emphasizing customer service to assure quality patient care.

  • Reports potential reception problems to supervisor and suggests solutions.

  • Checks patients out, performs chargeentry procedures and collects payment if applicable. Rotates too their locations as necessary to perform reception duties.

  • Attends meetings as required, distributes communication in an efficient andtimely manner.

  • Performs other projects and duties as related to department objectives.

  • Supervises work performed by department and may delegate work to staff members. Counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating, and mediating conflict resolution.

  • Assists with staff development, new employee orientation, and training. Monitors and ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Maybe responsible for performance evaluations as required by HumanResources.

  • Responsible for managing the schedule, timekeeping, and payroll if necessary.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.


  • Medical office experience preferred.

  • Receptionistexperiencerequired.

  • Experienced in staff role and history of good performance
