As a Lead Receiver/Quality Assurance Attendant, you'll oversee product inspections, ensuring quality through detailed checks and industry best practices. You'll train Warehouse Receivers, manage temperature logging, and ensure timely, accurate handling of deliveries and returns. Your role includes maintaining compliance with company policies, keeping the warehouse orderly, and filling in for supervisory staff as needed. You'll ensure secure, documented distribution and proper food handling, continually seeking ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness while fostering a professional and friendly work environment.

What you will do as a Lead Receiver/Quality Assurance Attendant:

  • Lead efforts in inspection of products arriving on dock including weighing products, checking for quality using company specifications and industry best practices, and partnering with culinary for detailed requirements and specifications of products.

  • Performs spot / quality checks on stored products (primarily perishable items) currently stored and as selected by Attendants for delivery to ensure quality standards are being met when delivered to end user.

  • Tracks and ensures temperature checks are performed by Receivers on all trucks and perishable items, and that temps are logged properly for traceability.

  • Ensures the accurate processing of all returns-to-vendors (RTVs), charge backs, transfers, and damages based on company policies and procedures.

  • Ensures compliance of receiving practices with established company policies and standards; such as safekeeping of company funds and property, personnel practices, security, and record keeping procedures.

  • Performs receiving task when required at high volume periods.

  • Effectively communicates with Purchasing and Accounting on any discrepancies regarding orders received by the team. Assists in providing information about deliveries to resolve confusion between vendors and Finance and taking part in meetings and quality reviews with suppliers.

  • In tandem with Warehouse leadership; regularly meets with culinary team to review and concerns and offers feedback on product related quality matters.

  • Communicates with Warehouse & Distribution Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Control Supervisor, and Purchasing Agents at all times to resolve discrepancies.

  • Maintains the correct receiving temperatures at all times to prevent food borne illness.

  • Effectively trains staff on proper food handling techniques. Continually monitors effectiveness of training and ensures staff knows what to look for regarding safe food handling.

To be successful as a Lead Receiver/Quality Assurance Attendant, you'll need:

  • Associates Degree preferred. A combination of education and experience will be accepted in lieu of formal advanced degree.

  • At least 1-3 years of warehouse / receiving experience; preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • Strong food handling background, experience or knowledge is preferred. Serv-Safe or HAACP certification is preferred. Must have the ability to obtain appropriate certifications.

  • Experience using purchasing system or other similar system is preferred. Including the use of tablets and or PC's

  • Culinary or foodservice background preferred

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; and have a general understand of hotel and business operations.

  • Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Windows, Excel, and Word.

  • Must possess valid NYS Driver's License.
