About this opportunity:

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 686-bed comprehensive facility offering medical and surgical programs including behavioral health, 24-hour emergency, heart and vascular, imaging, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, sleep disorder, and women's services. An affiliate of TriStar Health, TriStar Centennial Medical Center's 43-acre campus is home to TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center, TriStar Centennial Women's Hospital, The Children's Hospital at TriStar Centennial, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at TriStar Centennial Medical Center and TriStar Centennial Parthenon Pavilion.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs daily operations of the diagnostic imaging department

  • Participates with the department manager in performance evaluations and disciplinary functions

  • Develops and manages staff schedules

  • Responsible for adjusting staffing to meet productivity metrics

  • Participates in hiring decisions

  • Participates in service recovery through investigation and customer interaction.

  • Performs Radiology exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care

  • Cross trains to all areas of diagnostic imaging as needed. (ED, OR, portables, fluoro, pediatrics etc

  • Takes patient history and retrieves any necessary orders or prior images

  • Provides patient history/signs/symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist

  • Appropriately completes documentation

  • Coordinates patient flow and checks daily list to ensure all exams are complete.

  • Informs patient about procedure and answers questions.

  • Interacts and professionally communicates with physicians, patients and family members.

  • Contributes to after hour coverage through on-call shift rotations as needed

  • Maintains all licenses, certifications and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications

  • Daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc)

  • Promotes customer service initiative by adhering to the ICARE values

  • Supports and participates in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans.

  • Compliance with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e. Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc)

  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • ARRT registered (R)

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology

  • BLS required

  • Minimum of two years experience as a radiologic technologist

What you will do in this role: * Prepares procedure trays with appropriate supplies * Prep and drape of patient and equipment prior to procedure. * Scrub and assists with procedures maintaining sterile technique. * Pulls needed equipment/product, circulating for cases as needed and where appropriate. * Executes protocol appropriately on all radiographic equipment * Supports ALARA by appropriately alerting physicians of intraprocedure dose thresholds * Accurately records patient demographics, images and dose data. * Interacts and communicates with patient family members * Supports and participates in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans. * Daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc) * Contributes to after hour coverage through on-call shift rotations. * Maintains all licenses, certifications and accreditations required as outlined above. * Supports the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values * Other duties as assigned What qualifications you will need: * Degree from ARRT accredited RT program required. * No less than (2) years of general diagnostic radiology experience required. * (1) Year of Interventional experience is strongly preferred. * Current BLS and RT(R) ARRT certifications required. * Additional (VI) certification required within 12 months of hire date.
