JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Analyst III will review and analyze post and pre funding loan files on a monthly basis to determine if all Impac Mortgage Corporation (Impac) guidelines are met. He or she must have the ability to review and complete a minimum of 4 to 5 loans per day. He or she will be interacting and communicating with several departments within Impac. He or she will be communicating loan findings orally and in writing to the underwriting departments of Impac and Cash Call.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and audit pre and post funded loans

  • Review submitted documentation to verify if it meets Impac underwriting guidelines

  • Order and review external due diligence reports on borrowers

  • Review and analyze income tax returns all schedules and IRS filings.

  • Determine credit worthiness of a borrower to include knowing how to read a credit report and question items that appear to be suspicious in nature.

  • Review assets documentation to determine borrower's ability to save.

  • Review property appraisals to determine if value stated is supported.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 to 7 years of underwriting and/or Quality Control auditing background

  • Mortgage or Financial Services industry experience is highly preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Sharepoint

  • Must be able to communicate concerns both in writing or verbally and the ability to discuss findings and support decisions rendered.

  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational skills

  • Must be comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing in a fast paced environment that's deadline driven

  • Must have strong analytical and personal skills

  • Must have knowledgeable in FHA, VA, FNMA and FHLMC. Ability to reference various guidelines for loan placement.

  • Must have high ethical standards

As a Lead Analyst based in Irvine, CA you will be thoughtfully placed within one of the functional areas listed above. You will play a key role within Core Operations leadership and serve as a technical subject matter expert.
