Job Purpose

The Future of Heat Solutions (FOHS) Account Manager- Lead Program Manager will be responsible for working with the Sales teams to develop account plans with the company's strategic accounts and communities that will focus on on meeting customer needs and achieving decarbonization through the strategic implementation of emerging technologies, new programs and customized energy efficiency (EE) solutions. The may include:

  • Geothermal

  • Hybrid heating

  • Decarbonized gas supplies (RNG/Green Hydrogen)

  • Demand Response

  • Integrated EE

The FOHS Account Managers will manage the cadence of the account plans by collaborating with the Sales, Jurisdiction and Connections teams on project development activities and manage the customer relationship in the context of growth planning and carbon reduction, creating opportunities to support our customers while achieving our Fossil-Fuel Free Vision. In addition to Sales, Jurisdiction, and Connection teams, internal collaboration with the following groups will be essential: Future of Heat Engineering, Gas Control, Gas Pricing, Legal, Gas Supply, Jurisdiction, Long Term Planning, Project Management, and Finance

Key Accountabilities

  • Assisting large customers with strategic growth plans by establishing a framework for long term energy master planning - coordinating with necessary internal departments (e.g. Engineering, Sales, Complex Connections Team, Future of Heat Solutions)

  • Working collaboratively on execution of plans with the Strategic Sales Team

  • Assisting the rest of the Future of Heat Solutions team with developing and executing pilots with customers on emerging technologies and new programs

  • Participating in developing new regulatory filings that support creative customer solutions

  • Communicating clear expectations and deliverables with customers and internal/external stakeholders to achieve strategic milestones

  • Determining the need for changes to regulatory policies, corporate policies and procedures that will better enable the implementation of strategic projects under evolving utility business model.

  • As needed, representing the company in targeted local, regional and/or professional organizations

  • Ensuring effective communication and interaction with Sales & Program Operations, Future of Heat Solutions, Future of Heat Engineering, Customer Energy Management, Regulatory Strategy, U.S. Strategy, and Jurisdiction teams and other internal stakeholders

  • Networking efficiently and effectively to identify and collaborate with new partners

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience required

  • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree (e.g. MBA, PMP) preferred

  • Project, program, or portfolio management experience preferred

  • Experience with business model development (e.g. NPV, BCA, value optimization) preferred

  • Exceptional communication skills required

  • Experience working in any of the following circumstances is preferred:

  • at a utility

  • within a regulated industry

  • in the clean energy space

  • Is recognized as a credible, knowledgeable, and effective professional who drives change, builds collaborative networks across business units and end-to-end processes, and delivers results.

  • Demonstrates the ability to translate customer needs and market conditions into solutions, balancing the value of different solutions; understands how best to utilize them and drive greater performance, taking into account the wider business context.

  • Is visionary in understanding the issues which National Grid is facing today and possesses the ability to make complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and easy to understand.

MA: $109,000 - $128,000 a year

Upstate NY: $98,000 - $115,000

Downstate NY: $116,000 - $137,000

This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business.</p><p>Job Purpose</p><p>To support new product development and the continuous improvement of existing products in the areas of energy efficiency, electric demand response and electrification of heat efforts for our residential, multi-family, small business, large commercial, low/moderate income customers and disadvantaged communities. The Product Developer will be a member of the Customer Energy Management (CEM) New York's Growth team.</p><p>A Product Developer is the project manager of new product development. The Product Developer will be responsible for bringing new ideas through the discovery process (assessing the customer value proposition, business case, and technical feasibility of proposed programs). For viable ideas, the Product Developer, supported by subject matter experts, will develop a product development plan, laying out the scope, schedule, budget and resources necessary for product development. The Product Developer supports implementation of the product development plan and, for successful products, develops a product launch plan. The Product Developer remains a resource to the product launch team throughout the product launch and supports the scaling or modification of launched products through the continuous improvement process.</p><p>There is a focus on: demand side management (DSM) products for reducing gas and electric system peak needs; use of data and modeling to improve product performance; new products for low and moderate income customers and disadvantaged communities; supporting corporate and state climate goals; and exploring new business models.</p><p>Key Accountabilities</p><ul><li><p>Works closely supporting CEM NY product owners on ensuring that new/existing pilots and programs represent a clear fit with current regulatory, system, and earnings pathways.</p></li><li><p>Manages the product development of an assigned portfolio of new EE, electric DR and electrification of heat pilots and programs after ascertaining the value and feasibility of new ideas in the discovery process.</p></li><li><p>Develops viable ideas into new pilots or programs working closely with supporting staff from Customer Insights, Marketing, Procurement, Legal, Regulatory, IT, the Gas and Electric System teams, and Advanced Data Analytics.</p></li><li><p>Collaborates with market actors, other utilities, and NYSERDA as appropriate on new product development.</p></li><li><p>Provides status updates, metrics and reporting necessary to support CEM Growth Manager in evaluating the health of overall product innovation portfolio</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>A Bachelor's degree in a business, social science, environmental science or engineering related area and 5-7 years of relevant work experience.</p></li><li><p>Experience with the principles of project or product management; experience with project or product management tools a plus.</p></li><li><p>Has knowledge of the electric and gas industry, energy efficiency program planning, design, implementation and evaluation, and state/national energy policy.</p></li><li><p>Strong verbal and written communications skills.</p></li><li><p>Competence with Microsoft Office and remote working technology.</p></li><li><p>Has the ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal guidance from others</p></li><li><p>Quickly grasps complex issues and can effectively integrate, compile and analyze complex information and data.
