Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and passionate user experience designer to join our growing design and research studio. This user experience designer will have a significant impact on our business as they contribute to the design direction for the Amazon Kinesis. Amazon Kinesis makes it easy to collect, process, and analyze real-time, streaming data so you can get timely insights and react quickly to new information. Amazon Kinesis offers key capabilities to cost-effectively process streaming data at any scale, along with the flexibility to choose the tools that best suit the requirements of your application. Throughout the strategy, design, and development lifecycle, the designer will work collaboratively with a strong design team, engineers, product managers and executives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design of useful, usable, and desirable products in a team environment.

  • Understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback.

  • Use business requirements to assist in developing use cases and high-level requirements.

  • Design the architecture, interface, and interaction flow of services and experiences.

  • Develop personas, customer journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes.

  • Facilitate the design process, present and iterate design solutions.

  • Chart a course for yourself in ambiguous situations. Mentor and assist junior designers and interns.

As a UX Designer you will have a significant impact on a crucial part of our platform, as you craft and design modern, intuitive user experiences for AWS customers that cut across the whole array of services that are offered on our platform. You can go from sketching to polished visuals, are fluent in design's best practices and processes, and are eager to solve complex and challenging design problems. As a member of the design team you'll contribute to user experience guidelines, create information presentation models, and drive customer research studies of your designs. The ideal candidate also has strong customer empathy and is able to work collaboratively with developers, engineers, product managers and a diverse group of stakeholders across the company. Product ownership is essential, requiring you to be a great communicator who can present and align your ideas with those of our marketing, content, and engineering teams.
