Role Summary:

The Lead Product Definition Engineer operates as a design team member providing definition of responsible module deliverables that meet customer, partner and program needs. In this role, you will work with engineering, supply chain and other business teams to deliver complex aircraft engine designs; and utilize expertise to mentor and train team members while participating in section, department and business wide continuous improvement and simplification initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lead Product Definition Engineer, you will:

  • Design Wind Turbine Blades with 3D CAD modeling tool (CATIA.)

  • Create / modify parts, assemblies and drawings in compliance with corporate and industry design standards, guidelines, and "best practices"

  • Support and coordinate with interfacing teams within the organization, including global and domestic

  • Drive accountability that designs are accurately represented via models, drawings and BOMs

  • Explore and advance the use of CAD models in manufacturing and inspection

  • Drive PDE team's digital capabilities to improve current processes

  • Communicate progress to all levels of the organization


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited university or college (OR Associate's Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 6 years of CATIA CAD design experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of CATIA CAD design experience

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification or equivalent Quality certification

  • Experience in Wind Turbine Blade manufacturing process and procedures

  • Interfaces effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers

  • Sound mechanical design and analytical background

  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion

  • Stress and Thermal analysis experience

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Composites background
