Facebook seeks highly motivated, curious, adaptive team players to serve as Lead Product Counsel for Instagram. The role is dedicated to advising on and driving cross-product privacy and legal projects.

The role requires application of complex, evolving legal frameworks to new and innovative products and services. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team, learn about interesting new technologies and business models, and work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Lead Product Counsel, Instagram Responsibilities

  • Review global products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions

Provide product, engineering, and other business teams with legal advice across many subject areas including consumer protection, intermediary liability, data protection, intellectual property, competition, and other global legal frameworks

Coordinate with public policy, communications, privacy, and other cross-functional teams on multi-disciplinary issues

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
    5+ years of legal experience

Experience working independently and cross-functionally

Technology, consumer protection, intermediary liability, privacy, competition, or regulatory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience and/or experience working with technology or Internet companies

Product review experience

International experience

As Product Counsel for Argo Professional Lines, you will: * Collaborate with Argo Pro Underwriting team to create enhancements and revisions to their products on an account specific and portfolio basis. * Develop and draft insurance forms and endorsements. * Manage and maintain the company's portfolio of products for a variety of commercial and specialty lines of business in support of Underwriting Business Unit initiatives. * Develop and maintain the Argo Pro product library with a focus towards compliance and market needs, including regulatory changes, current case law, and state insurance laws (admitted lines of business). * Identify and research emerging issues related to Argo Pro products and operations and provide recommendations to management based on relevant findings. * Assist in data mining for executive review and continued analysis of products. * Preliminary review and processing of Non-Disclosure Agreements. * Other duties as assigned.
