Hartford Steam Boiler IIC is looking for a Lead Pricing Actuary to join our Group Underwriting Services team.
Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer this position serves as a creative partner across all product areas for our full range of clients. This role will collaborate with Global Product Owners, Treaty and CAD Product Managers, BI&A and FP&A and will be estabilish ownership over all final pricing of products, assumed and direct, and will recommend pricing approvals.
The responsibilities of this position will be:
Oversee HSB's product pricing and underwriting performance.
Assess pricing adequacy and rate needs across HSB's key product segments, both Personal Lines and Commercial Lines.
Develop actuarially-certified rates based on experience and trends.
Work with Global Product Owners and Business Units to ensure appropriate and timely product performance analysis.
Liaise with Business Intelligence & Analytics and Financial Performance & Analytics to ensure timely updates of models and product pricing reviews.
Work with underwriting, claims and engineering units to ensure technical expertise is fully leveraged in the development of and use in pricing models.
Bring level of technical actuarial and/or underwriting expertise to the final development and implementation of product pricing strategies.

BA in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field
10+ years Personal and Commercial Lines P&C pricing actuarial work
Verbal and written Communication skills
Ability to interact with all levels of management
ACAS or FCAS actuarial designation
Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field
3+ years multi-line underwriting and/or product management
Experience with product pricing
