The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Planning and Operations team handles campus services such as security, emergency preparedness, maintenance, custodial, motor pool, and utilities.

Due to the nature of our educational environment and commitment to the safety of campus, this position will be expected to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Overtime may also be expected as needed. The Campus is a 30-acre, urban medical and bioscience campus with more than 1.7 million square-feet of biomedical-related research, academic, and clinical facilities with plans for more.

Duties & Responsibilities Performs corrective maintenance on plumbing equipment and systems to ensure operational effectiveness. Performs work in a timely manner through industry standard materials management and workflow standards for the installation, maintenance, and repairs of plumbing systems and fixtures. Plans and develops preventative maintenance schedules, corrective repairs and regulatory repair procedures, documents, and timelines to include equipment usage schedules.

Maintain records, conduct city, county, and state required inspections. Ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements. Inspects humidifiers, water softeners, DI water equipment, domestic and research pipes, joints, flow valves, pumps, boilers, heaters, fixtures, tanks, thermostatic mixing valves and other plumbing system components to locate and identify work requirements necessary.

Coordinates contractor support for maintenance or repairs to humidifiers, water treatment equipment and systems, boilers, vacuum, gas, and other equipment to meet industry standard and regulatory requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the plumbing trade.

Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, standards, and regulations. Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of plumbing systems equipment and components. Ability to effectively communicate and document information related to the repair and or installation of plumbing equipment or systems.

Minimum Qualifications Completion of a high school education or an equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training and/or experience. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Certification indicating Journeyman Plumber and renewal of certificate if appropriate.

Must be able to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy. Preferred Qualifications Available to work Overtime as needed.
