LEAD Physical Therapist

195 Day Contract
Reports to: Director of Related Services and Preschool Programming
FLSA Status: Exempt
The position is a 5 day/week position including 2 days/week of direct physical therapy service and 3 days/week of Lead Physical Therapist responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio
Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License
Ohio Department of Education Administrative/Supervisor Licensure: obtained or in process
Pass criminal background check
Valid driver's license or state identification
At least 3-year experience in the educational setting practicing as a physical therapist

Guiding Focus: Work alongside the Director of Related Services and Preschool Programming to provide leadership and consultation to physical therapy department staff in order to fulfill the department goals by guiding team building and development and assist in long-range department planning. Serve as a liaison between the physical therapy staff and Director of Related Service and Preschool Programs.
Responsibilities:
1.Serve as a resource to WCESC Physical Therapy Department
2.Conduct formative and summative evaluations of occupational therapy and physical therapy staff employed by the WCESC and maintain appropriate training credentials
3.Develop current physical therapy staff by providing feedback on assessment, interventions, and therapeutic treatment strategies
4.Provide programming supervision and supervision of physical therapist assistants, as appropriate
5.Provide personnel functions related to recruitment and employment of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants
6.Coordinate and organize continuing education opportunities for physical therapy department, including submission for contact hour approval
7.Provide in-service training for therapists, assistants, or district personnel, as appropriate
8.Assist in preparing and leading regularly scheduled department meetings.
9.In conjunction with the WCESC Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Treasurer, and Director of Related Service and Preschool Programs, coordinate and maintain the budget for the physical therapy department
Assist in the management of reimbursement for travel and professional development
Disseminate information regarding current practices, education, and research in the field of physical therapy
Assist in the ordering, inventorying and organization of department equipment, materials, and supplies
Assist in communication with district teams to support navigating caseload distribution and "in-district" professional issues
Complete department publications requested by WCESC leadership
Other duties needed to help WCESC fulfill our vision and abide by WCESC values
