Summary:

Performs all phlebotomy duties and coordinates staffing, scheduling and maintaining employee attendance records. Will step-in to help phlebotomists so that the workflow is carried out consistently and efficiently.

Assists manager in completing new employee orientation, training and provides assistance with performance appraisals. Follows through on resolving known nursing/patient/customer service issues. Troubleshoots front end IT, registration, ordering issues, sample integrity, re-draws. Performs all procedures involving blood collection, receiving/specimen handling, and limited technical functions to assist the technologist in performing laboratory analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.Formal Education Required:

a. High School graduate or GED equivalent

2.Experience and Training Required:

a. Two (2) years previous phlebotomy experience; preferably in physician office or patient service center which has provided leadership skills

b. Certificate in Phlebotomy or as a Medical Assistant is preferred

c. Ability to travel from location to location

g. Good working knowledge of department policies, procedures and protocols

h. Knowledge of medical terminology

4.Level of Physical Demands:

a. Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.

$20.31/hr - $24.37/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
