Patient Service Rep strengthens, personalizes and enhances the customer services extended to the patients and visitors. Anticipates the needs of anyone entering the lobby of the hospital. Maintains order and continuity of information given to our customers in a friendly and helpful manner. Maintains a specific, effective channel through which patients seek solutions to problems, concerns and unmet needs and to expand communications to patients, visitors, and family members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates communication systems such as telephone, switchboard, intercom and two-way radio.
Demonstrates clear understanding, knowledge and proficiency in handling emergencies.
Functions as a liaison between patients, administration and other depts.
Responds quickly to all emergency procedures.
Assists patients at Emergency Department doors if needed, while monitoring ER doors for security reasons.
Maintains positive attitude and cooperation and maintains confidentiality in all matters.
Maintains professional manner and appearance.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills with the ability to relate tactfully, diplomatically, and objectively with a wide range of patients, visitors and hospital associates.
Attends in-service programs/seminars as required and department meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Experience in hospital setting and understanding of hospital operations is preferred.
Education: High School diploma/GED required.
