About this Opportunity:
The "Lead Paint Prep Tech" is a working lead within the Paint department team. The person fulfilling the role is primarily responsible for assuring completion of the team's assigned priorities, coordinating workflow, and resourcing the necessary material content to sustain daily success. Lead is responsible for the most effective and efficient use of the powder coat line and oven, while maintaining work order accuracy and quality. This position reports directly to the department Supervisor and is responsible for employee's workflow in the Powder Coat area. Safely directs production of the manufacturing operations of the company, working closely with the Site Director to help determine policy, production flow, staff development, and procedures to enable the business to run efficiently and profitably while maintaining high levels of quality control.
Responsibilities:
Prioritize work in the department as instructed by Supervisor.
Delegate assignments-based skill level, experience, and job priorities per Supervisor instructions.
Know, understand, and practice the Vantedge Medical Inspection Processes if applicable.
Oversee workers/operators to ensure their productivity and safety.
Help identify areas to improve operational efficiencies.
Monitor, and maintain department paperwork such as quality checklists, set-up sheets, component tracking, and C of C if applicable.
Ensure that all Operators are following the written instructions for all operations. Any deviation from the written instructions requires written approval from the customer, including formal internal document changes.
Communicate priorities to Leads upstream to the other shift Leads
Ensure line loading/density practices to avoid line stoppage and assure maximum output per shift.
Monitor tools and fixture calibration life cycles and ensure equipment remains within set dates.
Assure cleanliness in the department by scheduling regular department clean-ups.
Assist workers/operators at their workstations when needed.
Be a role model for all employees.
Monitor and maintain quality standards by reviewing both internal
First pass Quality and external
PPM.
Requirements:
Prior leadership experience is a plus.
Experience performing detailed tasks hour after hour.
Requires ability to use various shop tools.
Must have basic math skills.
Requires ability to read, write and understand written documents.
Ability to read and interpret masking requirements from drawing.
Good dexterity.
Ability to remain focused on detailed tasks for long periods of time.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Experience with solvents and or paints.
