SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Lead Packaging Technician is an advanced mentor/trainer who can support packing and inspection needs to support new temporary associates, new members, and current members.

SHIFT SCHEDULE- LOOKING FOR BOTH DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT LEADS

Day Shift: 6:45am-7:00pm (12 hour shifts), 3 days a week --> rotational shift schedule

Night Shift: 6:45pm-7:00am (12 hour shifts), 3 days a week --> rotational shift schedule

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time; these responsibilities are as follows:

• Mentor and lead on-the-job training for new packers and temporary associates assigned to the shift.

• Support packers with visual inspections and final packaging on manual, automated or semi-automated lines.

• Assist leadership with coordinating and/or giving regular breaks to packers throughout the facility.

• Assist team with defect identification, root cause analysis, process audits/documentation, and rework.

• Operate and troubleshoot automated packing lines, including auto palletizers, robotics, and labeling equipment.

• Communicate openly with leaders and teammates in a positive manner.

• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned and contribute to improvements.

• Work safely, following all safety policies and proactively participating in the safe work of others and the safety of the overall environment.

• Engage in other miscellaneous support work to enable the team to be successful and as requested by plant leadership.

• Assist in the duties of other team members, including helping to clean other areas of the operation, supporting finished goods inventory movement, collecting trash, cardboard, and recycling materials, etc.

• Demonstrate a desire for Radius production improvements, provide examples of safety focus, teamwork initiatives, and illustrate positive contributions to their direct and shared work environment.

• Compliance to GMP, Food Safety, and Food Quality regulations as required by the company, customers, and/or government agencies.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

• High School diploma or GED.

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Be a team player that can train/mentor others to support long-term learning and engagement.

• Ability to perform in a team with little to no supervision.

• Must be able to operate the proper equipment/tools related to the job in your work area.

• Must have a reliable means of transportation.

• Must be able to read and understand English.

• Preferred: Previous experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

• Preferred: Technical experience in operating automated equipment.

• Able to follow internal and external rules, policies, and guidelines independently while working as part of a cohesive production team.

• Familiarity with basic business computer and Microsoft applications and Apple iPad devices and applications.

• Must be able to laugh at jokes & embrace Radius culture!

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift/carry up to 30 to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms for regular tasks.

• Must be able to climb steps, have a good hand-eye coordination, and bend/squat.

• Must be able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment.

• Must be able to operate effectively in temperatures ranging from 60 to 110 F.

• Must be capable of visually detecting defects, depth, colors, variances, and see objects.
