POSITION SUMMARY: Leads, directs, and coordinates daily production activities in multiple assembly and packaging work centers. Responsible for promoting safety, quality and efficiency efforts in assigned areas. Reports directly to shift supervisor.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for delegation of required work through designated employees

  • Aligns staff and assigns daily roles to meet daily schedules in multiple assembly and packaging work centers.

  • Able to motivate employees to reinforce quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety goals.

  • Required to interpret schedules, backorder reports, email communications and all-on scheduling requests for processing of parts within department.

  • Brings employee issues to the attention of management, and participates in resolutions.

  • Ability to operate all machinery within department(s) as needed for training, relief, or performance; ability to setup, maintain, and perform minor maintenance on all machinery within department.

  • Coordinates and establishes priorities for maintenance, machine change overs, and production sequencing.

  • Ability to communicate and interact with other departments within a team environment as required.

  • Assist in coordination of multiple shift operations.

  • Repairs and builds components, WIP and finished goods as required; Assist with rework and repacking as needed.

  • Orders and receives components, trays, master cartons, film, wrap, and supplies from tool crib and warehouse as needed to complete schedules.

  • Retrieves component parts and cartons from pick locations and/or warehouse, utilizing motorized pallet jack, manual pallet jack and/or hand truck, performs material handling functions as needed.

  • Operates computer-based label printing system, and demonstrates computer skills and knowledge of system, understands planning and inventory system.

  • Responsible for managing and reporting scrap within guidelines, processes customer returns within department.

  • Reports to, and performs other tasks as directed by supervisor, and/or department managers.

  • Assumes limited supervisory duties in absence of supervisor.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must maintain good safety practices, and good organizational skills.

  • Team oriented, works well with others.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.

  • Self-directed

  • Good attendance and work record

  • Executes good housekeeping practices from self and employees.

  • Adheres to the rules/intent of the company safety programs, and motives employees in the area.

  • Able to perform repetitive motions with both arms and hands.

  • Ability to learn and identify finished goods, component parts and part numbers.

  • Able to stand while performing work for extended periods of time.

  • Computer literacy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High attention to detail.

  • Good basic math skills

  • Good time management skills.

Hiring Range: $10.27 - $28.50
