Milk Specialties Global is an industry-leading manufacturer of innovative dairy-based nutritional ingredients designed to optimize health and nutrition. We are currently seeking a Lead Production Operator on night shift (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM) to be based out of our facility in Mountain Lake, Minnesota.
The Shift Lead is responsible for the overall operation of a Production Line, or Area, within a Department. This is accomplished by efficiently utilizing labor, materials, and machines to produce the best quality product for our customers.
The number one priority of the Shift Lead is to follow any and all safety procedures, and ensure the people she/he is responsible for does the same. Common items relating to this will be:
-Be vigilant in the monitoring of Team Members activities on a continual basis
-Ensure any and all PPE is issued and is being properly worn
-Actively participate in Safety Training
-Participate in the creation of Job Rotation Programs, and Job Hazard Analysis for each position
Monitor Team Member Call-ins to maintain an accurate daily total of Team Members present.
Schedule each shift's work in accordance with the Master Production Schedule, and the crew size, to maximize output from those present.
With the Production Manager, plan the proper placement and develop a training plan, for new Team Members to maximize the potential of their chances of success at MSG. The Team Lead will provide a good example of maturity, ambition, and company loyalty, which will aid in the proper development of other Team Members.
Aids with the implementation, and the consistent enforcement, of work rules, policies, protocols, specifications, and requirements identified by MSG.
Completes any and all Daily Reporting of production numbers directly, or through other Team Members, and verifies accuracy.
Works with Quality, Maintenance, and Production Manager to resolve issues relating to the efficient operation of a Production Line or Area.
Provides a positive example for other Team Members by practicing good personal hygiene, and following any and all Food Safety Policies required by MSG.
Must have basic computer skills.
Take personal responsibility to engage in plant and food safety practices to prevent hazards that cause foodborne illness or injury and provide a clean, safe work environment and quality products.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous machine operator experience or equivalent skills. Strong mechanical aptitude. Licensed forklift operator or willingness to learn. Preferred: Previous experience in a leadership role. The ability to speak comfortably and perform presentations, or training sessions.
