Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector Operations Engineering Department has an immediate need for a Lead Operations Industrial Engineer 4. This position is located in Linthicum, MD. The Lead Operations Industrial Engineer will report to the Operations Engineering Manager within the Manufacturing Operations Engineering Analysis and Planning Organization. He/she will be the technical lead to help develop and lead a team of Operations Engineers within several manufacturing areas.

The candidate must be a self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment. She/he must have strong problem solving skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

The responsibilities of the Lead Operations Industrial Engineer include:

  • Working directly with the various stakeholders, including: Operations Industrial Engineers, Manufacturing Director(s), Cell Management, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering and Operations & Test Project Management

  • Responsible for the technical growth, knowledge sharing, and onboarding activities for the cell Operations Industrial Engineers

  • Train, coach, and mentor Operations Industrial Engineers on technical responsibilities including facility, capacity, process and operational planning and reporting

  • Provide technical expertise in the Industrial Engineering Discipline for work measurement, efficiency, optimization, affordability, continuous improvement, scheduling, capacity planning and systems & data analysis

  • Advance Industrial Engineering processes and practices across the Manufacturing cells, BWI campus, and sector

  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity

  • Challenge traditional methods, champion change, and execute improvements initiatives

  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects, Kaizen events, and employ Lean and Six Sigma techniques to streamline processes, create efficiencies, and eliminate non-value added activities

  • Provide new and innovative data analysis techniques, processes, and reporting

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution plus at least 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with a Master's degree)

  • Experience in a multi-disciplined engineering and manufacturing environment

  • Industrial and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance per business requirements (US citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering

  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business Management

  • Lean Six Sigma trained and/or certified

  • APICS CPIM and/or PMI PMP Certification(s)

  • Professional experience in Industrial Engineering

  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system(s)

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, logistics, or automotive industries

  • Technical experience working in a manufacturing/production environment

  • Active Secret clearance

NGMS is seeking a Software Engineer Level 4 with the desire to learn new technologies to join our innovative Embedded and Intel Software team to help develop, enhance and maintain software on cutting edge products and systems. Candidates will work on software systems for mission systems in all phases of the software development lifecycle, primarily in C/C . The selected individual will interface with systems engineering to develop flow down software requirements and technical specifications. Responsibilities include identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status. The individual will also be expected to develop and execute unit tests and build verification test plans, and track and report test status. Additionally, the selected individual will conduct reviews of software related products, software designs, and additional technical documents. The responsibilities include active participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), design reviews, and other reviews, as required. The selected individual will actively participate in the technical peer reviews to ensure system/software requirements are being met from an end to end system point of view. Individuals must be self-starters and able to efficiently operate in a team environment. Existing engineering and system specialists will be made available to assist with any activities associated with executing primary tasking. However, the selected individuals will be expected to prioritize and make recommendations to Technical Leads, as required, to implement tasking assigned. This position is located in Linthicum, MD. .
