Lead Oncology Data Specialist

Shift:

First Shift (United States of America)

Provide leadership and overall direction to the Cancer Registry Team to ensure quality data is abstracted according to professional and regulatory guidelines. Coordinate statistics for CoC accreditation. Oversee submission of registry data to State reporting agencies. Coordinate with internal and external customers to provide reports from the registry database. Analyze and abstract detailed clinical and administrative data from the medical record to meet hospital, accreditation, and regulatory agency requirements. Initiate and perform required follow-up activities to assist in improving clinical outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification required.

• High school education or equivalent required.

• Minimum of five years experience working as CTR/ODS required.

• Demonstrated independent problem solving skills required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in a health related field preferred.

• Experience leading a team preferred.

• Completion of formal cancer registry training program preferred.
