Lead Network Engineer
Our client is looking for an innovator and a self-starter to join their network team to help develop solutions for the company expanding technology environment. As a part of the team you will:
Provide networking subject matter expertise in areas of application delivery and performance especially highly distributed and load-balanced sites, including those, using F5 technologies.
Drive network design and collaboration in support of cloud based technologies.
Work directly with stakeholders and department leaders to clarify business requirements and design solutions to meet those needs.
Develop and documents process and procedures in support of designed and deployed solutions, defining the full production life-cycle as an integral part of the design.
Collaborate with cyber security to ensure appropriate controls are integrated into all relevant solutions to meet policy standards and support industry best practices.
Engage as liaison with external vendors to provide preliminary vendor management needs including requirements gathering, proof-of-concept efforts, cost estimation, and support evaluation.
Handle network systems changes, additions, short and long-term needs, and individual special requests while following Change Management policies and standards.
Participate in a rotational on-call and must be flexible to perform occasional night and weekend troubleshooting, installations, and repair.
Actively contribute in team and personal development programs and initiate training as needed to support the team or business.
Significant experience in design of distributed high-availability application delivery environments to include local/global loadbalancing and database driven applications.
Significant understanding of DNS function, F5 Loadbalancing, and application database dependencies is a must.
Must have 8+ years of network experience with at least 3+ in a senior role.
Must be able to deliver services and solutions in a structured and deadline-driven manner.
Leadership experience with defining network capabilities to match business needs including requirements gathering and solution development.
In-depth understanding and design support for cloud delivery solutions, specifically Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft O365 platforms.
Expert level knowledge of network protocols and technology - EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, and STP.
Deep understanding of QoS design and implementation and the relying technologies such as VoIP and IPTV.
Extensive knowledge of packet and flow level TCP/UDP application optimization. Experience with optimization technologies such as Cisco WAAS and Riverbed is essential.
In-depth understanding of security best practices in hardening network environments and supporting remediation activity.
Low-level troubleshooting skills using tools such as Netscout, Tcpdump, Wireshark, and netflow.
Experience with network provider peering and configuration to include route optimization and analysis.
Visualization and documentation skills using tools such as Visio, LiveAction, NetBrain, NetMRI, Solarwinds and Ansible.
Implementation experience with Hybrid WAN and SD-WAN technologies is a plus. Good client management resolution

Current networking certifications of CCNP or equivalent job experience with Cisco networking devices
