We are seeking a Lead Network Engineer to lead the point of contact for Innovation in Network design, implementation and management of all network environments. The opportunity will drive Data Center, LAN/WAN and security design and integration, including large route/switch platforms, security and load balancing platforms and Software Designed Networking solutions such as Cisco ACI. This engineer help lead strategies and will work with and mentor other engineers supporting areas of: security platforms (firewalls, proxies and web application firewalls), as well as the design and deployment of various levels of security zones in the infrastructure; storage solutions, load balancing solutions and cloud based computing solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Roadmap strategy, Design, implementation and integration of data center route/switch/cloud architectures as required with other security technologies and network technologies; this could include retail locations, campus, as well as the data centers. Examples include: Cisco ACI solution with Cisco Nexus 9K switches, route/switch platforms for data center, campus and remote sites, LAN/WAN/Wireless technologies/solutions offered by multiple vendors, firewall technologies, VPN platforms (IPSec & SSL), proxy platforms and web application firewall (WAF) platforms and working with load balanced environments, network monitoring and automation solutions

  • Setting network standards and processes for Tier 1, 2 and 3 level staff

  • Work with Senior Leadership, Project Management, architecture, business, technical and security teams to achieve project delivery with regard to network security related initiatives.

  • Escalation support for data center platforms

  • Vendor management skills (hardware/software security vendors as well as third party vendors)

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and resolve concerns

Our Lead Network Engineer will:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of security and network standards

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders- Performing as a consistent champion of process.

  • Work with leadership and architecture teams to advance and improve the current network and data center route/switch, enterprise LAN/WAN/Wireless, SDN, automation, monitoring and cloud platform solutions

  • Work with leadership and architecture teams to set new direction and develop the strategic direction for network and data center route/switch, enterprise LAN/WAN/Wireless, SDN, automation monitoring and cloud platform solutions

  • Take leadership in the testing and recommendation of new network technology solutions

  • Take leadership on root cause analysis of problems and potential solutions with respect to your area of expertise

  • Desire to continually grow domain knowledge of infrastructure services

Basic Requirements:

  • 7 years' experience in networking

  • 3 or more years of experience in a Senior Network Engineer Role with responsibilities including the support of data center network and security hardware

  • Solid Routing Protocol knowledge (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)

  • Prior experience with Cisco technologies and solutions including but not limited to: Nexus 7000/6000/5000/2000, LAN controllers, fixed configuration switches, and Cisco ISR and ASR series routers

  • Prior experience working with multiple data center and perimeter security environments

  • Cisco ACI APIC experience

  • Prior experience with network monitoring and security products

  • Prior experience with MPLS, Internet and cloud networks and service providers

  • Proven experience leading large installation and upgrade projects

  • Proven experience mentoring L1, L2 and L3 level engineers

  • Proven experience testing and recommending new technical solutions

  • Ability work on-call and alternative hour schedules when required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field, or appropriate industry certification

  • Prior experience with common network scripting programming languages

  • Prior experience with common automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef

  • Prior experience with API intrgrations

  • Experience managing partner and vendor relationships to achieve business outcomes

  • Prior experience in a global enterprise

  • Prior experience engineering networks with more than 2000 devices

  • Prior experience with Load Balancers (Local & Global, Citrix and F5 preferred)

  • Recent hands on experience with enterprise firewall and VPN platforms (preference is Cisco ASA/Sourcefire & Firepower)

  • Web Application Firewall experience (such as Citrix Netscaler, F5)

  • Prior experience with the DNS/DHCP

  • Prior experience presenting and explaining complex technical concepts to senior leadership
