Position Overview:

The Lead Mobile Speed Operator works closely with the Field Supervisor to maximize efficiency and performance of the mobile unit team. The primary responsibility of the Lead Mobile Speed Operator will be to drive and deploy Mobile Speed Units to scheduled deployment sites agreed upon in the city contract; set up, spot check and take down the Mobile Speed Unit photo system, and completing and ensuring the accuracy of court deployment forms with deployment data.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training new drivers and provide continuous training to ensure maximum deployment is achieved in all assigned jurisdictions. Knowledgeable in camera setup to ensure that quality images are produced at the time of deployment. Review and verify that all deployment forms are accurate within the assigned jurisdiction. Work with Field Supervisor to produce weekly schedules for van deployments. Work closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) / Verra Command Center (VCC) to maximize deployment hours.

  • Deploy assigned Mobile Speed Unit to assigned deployment sites; this may require local travel within the jurisdiction assigned or travel within the State of Arizona for drivers assigned within Arizona deployments.

  • Responsible for professional conduct and demeanor at all times while traveling to and from deployment sites and while deployed and/or while representing the company at any time.

  • Complete court deployment forms accurately with necessary and/or required deployment data. Log and report any equipment related issues in a timely manner to ensure they are resolved quickly. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to perform job at a high level with little on the job supervision.

  • Ability to operate a computer.

  • Photography knowledge and skills a plus.

  • Ability to self-motivate.

  • Ability to work first or second shift depending on assignment; assignments will require weekend shifts.

Physical Requirements:

  • These physical demands are representative of what a mobile speed operator may encounter in the field and are essential functions of the position. You will be involved primarily with field work on outside construction/service sites involving long term standing and perhaps repetitive motions. You must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

  • Mobile Unit Operators must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. Frequent ladder use is required with the ability to climb, descend, balance and work safely at heights on ladders and aerial lifts for extended periods at time.

  • Mobile Unit Operators must have a great driving record and must have the ability to see including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. Often technicians may be required to drive hundreds of miles per day. Field Technicians must not have any limitations that would reduce their ability to drive a vehicle safely to job sites.

  • Physical strength and ability sufficient to perform moderate lifting, moving, and carrying. This is defined, for example, as regularly exerting force sufficient to lift up to 50 pounds, maneuver up to 50 pounds onto vehicle or vehicle roof, and carry up to 50 pounds from vehicle to required distance from deployment vehicle (approx. 100ft.). Capable of safely attaching, detaching, towing and deploying a trailer-mounted unit. Able to enter and exit vehicles multiple times within a shift.

  • Field employees may be asked to wear protective equipment while in the field which can include reflective gear, work boots, safety glasses, hard hats and bullet resistant vests.
