Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday; Day Shift Hours with one week rotation on PM shift (1:30pm-10:00pm)
One weekend per month is required.

Performs clinical analyses in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Immunoassay, and Urinalysis with precision, accuracy and according to laboratory policies and procedures and in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements in order to provide results of the highest level of quality to physicians and their patients. Directives will be from Laboratory Manager and Laboratory Supervisor. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the mission and values of DuPage Medical Group. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delegates staff assignments appropriately and prioritizes work schedule
Monitors quality control and quality assurance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Coordinates and monitors implementation of new reagent lots, adjusts ranges when necessary
Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves technical problems related to methodology and instrumentation
Coordinates preventative maintenance procedures as warranted by service agreement
Staff training/competency assessments (initial, 6 month & annual)
Assists with performance evaluations in conjunction with supervisor
Contributes to policy and procedure development
Proficiency testing oversight, responsible for submitting results
Maintains adequate inventory of supplies
Monitors and reviews reported results
Participates in development and education
Supervises work performed by department and may delegate work to staff members. Counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating, and mediating conflict resolution.
Assists with staff development, new employee orientation, and training. Monitors and ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
May be responsible for performance evaluations as required by Human Resources.
Responsible for managing the schedule, time keeping, and payroll if necessary.
Any other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have recent working experience and technical knowledge of general laboratory methods and techniques.
Must be proficient in manual differentials.
Must have a current understanding of various methodologies for specific testing including: limitations of testing, reference methods, cross-reactivity, sensitivity, specificity, appropriate test utilization, and interpretation of results.
Experience with Siemens and Sysmex analyzers a plus.
Must have knowledge of lab information systems. Working knowledge of EPIC and Beaker a plus.
Must have knowledge of practices and use of laboratory tests to support this area.
Must have current knowledge of CLIA, CAP and OSHA guidelines and regulations.
Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept feedback from others and be able to follow work rules.
EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Current Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Lab Scientist certification.
Clinical laboratory experience required and leadership experience is preferred.
Computer and data management experience preferred.
Experienced in staff role and history of good performance
